Ipsos Iris Review – Worth Your Time? (Here’s the Full Truth)

Ipsos Iris Rating

Ipsos Iris is not a bad site to join if you are eligible to become a member. That is if you are okay with earning just gift cards or merchandise. Signing up is a bit complicated, though.

I checked out Ipsos Iris to see if it is worth your time. It is legit and pays you a fixed amount of rewards for doing nothing special, but only in the UK, only in gift cards and products, and it is hard to get in. Below is what I found, and which sites I recommend instead.

Partially Tested Re-tested Oct 2026

Legit and passive, but UK only, no cash and hard to join

Keep its app or software running and earn £5 to £10 a month in gift cards or products. Only in the UK, and you have to be selected.

Good for you ifYou live in the UK, are fine with gift cards or products, and do not mind software that monitors which websites and apps you use.
Skip it ifYou want cash, you live outside the UK, or you want a site you can join right away.

The short answer

Ipsos Iris is legit. It is a UK research panel owned by Ipsos MORI, the company also behind Ipsos i-Say. You earn rewards just by keeping its app or software running on your devices.

But the rewards are fixed: £5, £7.50 or £10 a month, paid in gift cards or products, never in cash. It is only for people in the UK, and becoming a member is a bit complicated, because you first have to answer a survey to see if you meet the panel’s demographic needs.

What I like
  • A very easy and passive way to earn rewards
  • Decent rewards for the work that needs to be done
  • Works on Android, iOS, Windows and Mac
  • Phone support next to email and an FAQ
What I don’t like
  • Earnings are fixed, no matter what you do
  • Becoming a member is a bit complicated
  • No cash rewards, only gift cards and products
  • Only available in the UK

My experience with Ipsos Iris

I checked out Ipsos Iris, its installation guides, how its software works and its rewards. This is what I looked at, and what I did not test.

Is Ipsos Iris legit and safe?

Yes, Ipsos Iris is legit. It has a reputable company behind it, so you can expect to get your rewards if you join. But that does not automatically make it a good fit for you. Here is what you should know.

  • The rewards are fixed

No matter how many devices you use or how often you use them, you always receive £5, £7.50 or £10 a month. Apart from installing the software on additional devices, you cannot do anything to earn more.

  • No cash

There is no option to withdraw cash. All you earn are gift cards and products. If you want cash, see the top sites that pay via PayPal instead.

  • The software monitors how you use the internet

It runs in the background and monitors the websites you visit and the apps you use. This is used in market research. According to Ipsos Iris, the content of your messaging apps and secure data such as bank details are not sent.

  • Becoming a member is a bit complicated

You have to answer a survey before you can register, so the panel can check if you meet the demographic requirements it currently needs. The other way in is an invitation from one of its partner companies, and you do not know who they are.

  • Only in the UK

Ipsos Iris is a UK-based research panel. You are only eligible to join if you live in the UK.

My takeIpsos Iris is not a bad site to join if you are eligible to become a member. That is, if you are okay with earning just gift cards or merchandise. The fact that you don’t have to do anything special to earn rewards is really its biggest advantage. However, the rewards will be fixed no matter what you do, and signing up is a bit complicated. If you are looking for a site you can join easily to earn rewards, this is not for you.

Ipsos Iris is UK only and hard to join. The top sites in your country are open to you right away.

How you earn on Ipsos Iris

There is only one way to earn: keep the Ipsos Iris software running on your devices. More devices give you more points each month. Tap one to read more.

The software on your main device50 points (£5) a month
Installing Ipsos Iris

When you register, you identify your main device: your most used smartphone or tablet, or your computer if you do not have a smartphone. Ipsos Iris then emails you a link to download its app or software. Open the link on that device and follow the installation guide for it.

The software runs in the background and monitors the websites you visit and the apps you use. Just use your device as you normally would, and make sure the software keeps running, so it can collect data.

The software on additional devices75 or 100 points a month
Installing Ipsos Iris on additional devices

24 hours after you installed the software on your main device, you receive an email with links to install it on any additional devices you have. The homepage has the instructions for each type of device.

With one additional device that works and provides data correctly, you receive 75 points a month instead of 50. With two additional devices (three in total), you receive 100 points.

How much can you make?

The rewards are fixed. No matter how many devices you use or how often you use them, you always receive £5, £7.50 or £10 a month.

That is not much, considering it takes a month to earn it. But since you do not have to do anything special to earn it, I would say Ipsos Iris has decent earning potential. Receiving £5 a month for doing what you normally do is a pretty good deal, in my opinion.

Monthly rewards and how you get paid

Devices with the softwarePoints a monthValue
Main device only50£5
Main device + 1 additional device75£7.50
Main device + 2 additional devices100£10

You get your points at the beginning of each month, based on your participation during the previous month. You exchange them for gift cards, such as H&M or Footlocker, or for certain products. How many points you need depends on the gift card or product you choose.

There is no option to withdraw cash. If you want to earn cash rather than gift cards or merchandise, see the top sites that pay via PayPal instead.

Who can join Ipsos Iris, and how

Ipsos Iris is a UK-based research panel, so you are only eligible to join if you live in the UK. Its sign-up process is not like most online rewards sites: you have to answer a survey before you can register as a member.

There are two ways in. The first is to contact the panel support team at [email protected]. They send you a survey to see if you meet the demographic requirements the panel currently needs. Once they deem you eligible, they email you the link to download the app or software. The other way is an invitation from one of its partner companies, but you do not know who they are. In my opinion, the easiest way to try to join is to contact the support team.

Does it track my credit card details?1 comment

A reader asked if the app tracks card details when you shop online. Not that I am aware of. Read the terms or ask support for more info.

Can I still use other survey sites?1 comment

Yes. You are not forced to do surveys only for one company. Just do not take the exact same survey on several sites.

“Does it track your credit card details if you buy things online using you device that the apps are installed on?”

Reader, June 2023
Mikael: Not that I am aware of. But you can read their terms or ask their support for more info about this.

“…will I be required to do surveys for them EXCLUSIVELY?…”

Reader, April 2023
Mikael: No, you are not forced to do surveys exclusively on one survey site. No legit survey sites will have that as a requirement.

  1. I’m still haven’t decided if I’ll upload their app. What I’d like to know is if I do upload the Ipsos Iris app, will I be required to do surveys for them EXCLUSIVELY? Meaning, will I be compelled to do surveys only for Ipsos Iris & no other survey company? Note that I learner about Ipsos Iris from a survey I took by The Octopus Group (who, by the way, pays). Thanks in advance for your reply/thoughts.

    • No, you are not forced to do surveys exclusively on one survey site. No legit survey sites will have that as a requirement. But you can, of course, not take the exact same surveys on several sites. If you try to take the same surveys on several sites, you will likely get banned.
