Testbirds Review 2026: Is It Legit? Pros, Cons and My Verdict

Testbirds Rating

Testbirds is a decent user-testing site. If you are into this kind of earning method, I would recommend you join this site. However, you have to temper your expectations as there will not always be tests available.

I registered as a tester on Testbirds to find out everything the site offers. It is legit and pays well per test, but tests do not come often. Below is what I found, and which sites I recommend next to it.

The short answer

Testbirds is legit. It is a user testing site that pays you to test websites and mobile apps, and it pays a decent amount for every successful test.

But testing opportunities aren’t that plentiful. Consider yourself lucky if you get invited to test once or twice a month. It also takes a few steps before you can start earning. It can serve as a nice secondary site, but don’t expect to earn a lot from it.

What I like
  • Pays well
  • Offers payment via PayPal and direct bank transfer
  • Relatively low payout threshold
  • A second chance to revise your report when there are a few mistakes
  • A companion app for Android and iOS
What I don’t like
  • Limited earning opportunities
  • Takes a bit of time before you can start earning
  • You have no control over how often you get invited
  • Low-quality reports are not paid

My experience with Testbirds

I registered as a tester, added my devices, completed my profile, looked at the entry test and tried to earn. This is what I did myself, and what I did not test.

Is Testbirds legit and safe?

Yes, Testbirds is legit, since you get paid to perform the tests. But that does not automatically make it worth your time. Here is what you should know before you become a tester.

  • Tests are not plentiful

How often you are invited depends entirely on what each client needs: the devices you registered and a set of demographics. You have no control over it. Consider yourself lucky if you get invited once or twice a month.

  • Steps before you can earn

You have to add your devices, complete your profile, and take and pass the entry test before Testbirds invites you to paid tests.

  • Accepting a test is binding

If you accept a test and cannot do it, message the Birdmaster with a valid reason. Without one, you are temporarily left off the invite list. If you keep doing it, you get banned.

  • Low-quality reports are not paid

Quality matters more than speed. If your work is of low quality, you do not receive the compensation. Reports that are late or incomplete are declined right away. With a few mistakes, you usually get a second chance to revise.

  • Bank transfers can take a while

Bank transfers take a few days longer than PayPal. It is not unusual for a payment to take 20 days.

My takeIn my opinion, Testbirds is a decent user-testing site. If you are into this kind of earning method, I would recommend you join this site. However, you have to temper your expectations once you become a tester. It can serve as a nice secondary site to earn from if you have the skills to execute testing projects properly.

How you earn on Testbirds

There is only one way to earn: testing projects. These are the steps to get there.

Add your devicesStep 1
Adding devices on Testbirds

Add the devices you are willing to perform the tests on. I recommend you add all of them, not just your preferred device. That way, you gain access to more earning opportunities.

Complete your profileAround 10 minutes

Log in and go to your account settings. Your profile has nine sections, and a guide bar shows how much you have completed. Make sure the bar is full. It took me around 10 minutes. A complete profile is the best thing you can do to get invited more often.

Pass the entry test€5 when completed
The Testbirds entry test

You have to take and pass the entry test before you are invited to paid tests. It gives you a preview of what you need to do to earn. The test has a step-by-step guide, so even a newcomer can pass it as long as you read and follow the instructions to the letter.

Testbirds reviews your work. If you pass, you wait for Testbirds to invite you to a test.

Testing projects€10 to €50 per usability test

You see all available tests when you log in, and you get an email invite when there is a test for you. Click the green test name to read the overview: requirements, payout and deadlines. Below it, sign up for a slot next to your device. If the regular places are taken, you might get a place as a backup tester.

When you finish, submit your report. Testbirds usually takes about 1 to 2 days to review it. When it is accepted, the compensation is credited to your Testbirds account.

A usability test usually has a fixed reward of €10 to €50, depending on how complicated it is. In a bug test, you earn €1 per bug you successfully report.

Before you accept a test: the checklist

Accepting a test makes it binding. Tick these off before you sign up for one.

0 of 5 done

How much can you make?

Testbirds pays a decent amount for every successful test you complete. But the amount you can earn depends on how often you get invited, and you do not have any control over that.

Overall, I would say Testbirds has decent earning potential since it pays well. But don’t expect to receive testing invites regularly. Consider yourself lucky if you get invited to test once or twice a month.

Payout methods, minimum and speed

MethodMinimumSpeed
Bank transfer (IBAN/SWIFT), SEPA countries€6A few days longer than PayPal. 20 days is not unusual.
PayPal€6Paid in the middle and at the end of each month

If you cannot receive money through an IBAN, Testbirds pays you through PayPal. If you request payment before the 26th of the month, you usually get it in the first week of the next month at the latest.

I like that you can get paid via direct bank transfer. For more sites with this method, see the top sites that pay via direct bank transfer.
