Few survey sites still pay by check, so this list is short, and a check takes longer to reach you than an online payment. Below I show where each site works, from how much it pays and how soon the check comes.

4 Survey and GPT sites that pay by check
As mentioned already, there are not many survey sites and online reward portals that still pay by check. But of all the ones I have tested, I have found some that are still using checks and that are decent and does pay you.
To get the most opportunities, it is a good idea to join several sites, as they all offer different options, and by using several of them, you get more earning opportunities.
#1 SurveySavvy

- Available in
- In theory, worldwide
- Cash out from
- $1
- When the check comes
- 4 to 12 weeks to process, plus mail time
SurveySavvy is, in theory, available worldwide, but it is, in my opinion, only really worth joining if you live in the US or UK.
It does not have the biggest number of available surveys, but it has SavvyConnect, where you can earn up to $15 per month just by having the app installed – this is really the best way to earn on SurveySavvy.
The only payout method is by check, and you can request a payout when you have earned $1. It is, however, probably a good idea to wait until you have earned a bit so you do not have to cash a check of just $1.
#2 Brainfuse

- Available in
- More or less worldwide
- Cash out from
- None
- When the check comes
- Every two weeks
Brainfuse is an online tutoring platform that lets you earn by tutoring students. It also offers another payout option – direct bank transfer.
You don’t need to reach a threshold to receive your earnings. It schedules payments every two weeks. So, whatever you’ve earned within that pay period will be sent to you via the payout option you prefer.
Just keep in mind that you need to have a master’s degree and prior experience teaching or tutoring students to qualify as a tutor. So, it’s not for everyone.
#3 Probe Market Research

- Available in
- US
- Cash out from
- Nonepaid per study
- When the check comes
- After each study; by mail in 1 to 2 weeks for studies at home
Probe Market Research is a market research recruiting firm that lets you earn by participating in various research studies. The type of research studies offered will usually be in the form of focus groups. Sometimes, there will be product testing opportunities available, but they are quite rare.
It pays well per study, so you can earn a decent amount. You just need to be patient because it can be quite hard qualifying for one. It is also available only in the US.
#4 MyOpinionNow

- Available in
- US
- Cash out from
- $20you cash out in steps of $20
- When the check comes
- A few days by mail
MyOpinionNow is a survey site that pays you for sharing your opinions. It works pretty much like most other survey platforms.
It does take a bit of time to earn from it because there are not a lot of surveys available. So, you’ll need to be patient.
It is only available in the US, so if you live somewhere else, this is not for you.
How does it work?
On a survey site or an online reward portal, you earn by doing surveys, watching videos, doing tasks or taking online offers. Sites with several ways to earn, not just paid surveys, are known as GPT (get-paid-to) sites. Using the different earning methods can boost your earnings.
- Earn rewardsTake surveys or use the other earning methods the site offers.
- Reach the thresholdOn the fastest-paying sites, it is usually between $1 and $10. On some sites it is a lot higher.
- Choose a checkSome sites ask for your payout method when you join, others when you request a payment. On most sites, you can change it whenever you want.
Advantages of getting paid by check for taking surveys
- As good as cashIt is a very easy way to get paid. You can use it in shops, exchange it into cash, or whatever you want.
- Sometimes lower feesCashing a check can cost less than online payment portals. That depends on your bank and the country you live in.
Disadvantages of getting paid by check
Fewer and fewer sites
Just a few years ago, many more sites paid by check. It is probably much easier for them to pay electronically. That is why this list is not that long.
It takes longer
Online payments can reach you within a few hours. A check has to be processed and sent by mail, so it can take some patience.
Want it faster?
If you prefer a more convenient option, check out the top sites that pay via direct bank transfer instead.
What about checks in a foreign currency?
Many survey sites pay in USD. Some pay in your local currency, and some just pay in another currency. If your currency is different, the check will probably be in the currency the survey site uses.
Extra fees, or no bank that takes it
Cashing a foreign check can cost extra fees, often also for the currency exchange. Check with your local bank. In some countries it is hard to exchange checks at all: in Scandinavia, where I live, banks no longer accept foreign checks.
I prefer PayPal
Because of this, and because getting paid electronically is convenient, I prefer survey sites that pay through PayPal. But checks can still be great, depending on where you live and which sites you use.
How I choose the sites on this list
What I look at
- Still pays by check
- Legit and actually pays you
- Decent earning opportunities
- Tested by me

Hello Mikael,
I’ve never been a fan of surveys in general, but I might actually after reading your posts. Do you see survey as a good source of income for gas money? I don’t expect to make a full time income, but I would if it’s worth it for me.
