StickK claims to help you reach any goal you want. I signed up and set up a commitment contract to see how it works. It is legit, but you do not earn money from it. You can only lose money. Below is what I found, and where you can earn instead.
Legit goal tool, but not a way to earn money
You stake money on your own goal and lose it if you fail. A good motivator, but no earning opportunities.

The short answer
StickK is legit. It is an incentive and accountability tool that helps you reach a goal you set, by putting your own money at stake in a commitment contract.
But you will not earn anything from StickK. It is the other way around: you lose money if you fail to reach your goal. If your goal is to earn extra cash, StickK is not the right fit for you. If you want a tool to help you reach your goals, it is worth considering.
- Will really help motivate you to reach your goal
- You can set any goal, not just fitness goals
- The app is user-friendly
- Available more or less worldwide
- Doesn’t offer any earning opportunities
- You can potentially lose money
- You need a credit card to stake money

Is StickK legit and safe?
Yes, StickK is legit. It really helps you work toward a goal. But it is not a way to earn money. Here is what you should know before you sign up.
- You do not earn anything
The reward is the goal you reach, not money. If you are mainly looking for a platform to earn extra cash from, this is not the opportunity for you.
- You can lose money
If you stake money and fail to reach your goal, the amount is deducted from your credit card. It goes to a charity, an anti-charity, a friend or a foe, whichever you chose.
- You report on your own progress
You have to submit reports to show you are doing what needs to be done. A referee can validate them. Make sure your referee understands the responsibility before you pick them.
- The free option does not motivate much
You can use StickK without a stake, but then you do not stand to lose anything if you fail. In my opinion, that makes it much less effective.
My takeThe way the platform works is actually quite brilliant, in my opinion. They leverage your money to help you achieve any goal you want. I have encountered only a few platforms like this, but StickK, in my opinion, is the most flexible. Most other platforms just help you with your fitness goals, but with StickK, you can set any goal you want.
StickK does not pay you. If you want to earn extra cash, these sites pay you for your time.

You do not earn on StickK. It works through commitment contracts. Tap a step to read more.
Set a goal and a timetableAny goal
First you pick a goal, like losing weight, learning a language or a skill, or just anything you want. Then you set the timetable to reach the goal.
Next, you indicate how the reporting works. In my opinion, daily reporting is your best option if you want to hit the goal badly, because it forces you to report on your progress every day.
Stake moneyFrom $5
You indicate how much money you want to stake in your contract. The minimum amount you can stake is $5. You also choose where the money goes if you fail: a charity, an anti-charity for added motivation, a friend or a foe.
The commitment summary shows how much you will lose if you fail to hit the goal. The threat of losing money can be a powerful motivator. I would even say it is more motivating than the idea of earning money when you reach a goal.
Add a refereeOptional
A referee validates all the reports you submit, as an extra layer of accountability. The referee can be any member of StickK, or really anyone you want. Make sure they understand what the responsibility entails, or you will just waste their time and yours.

Who can join, and the app
StickK does not tell you exactly which countries it is available in, but from what I can gather, it is available more or less worldwide. You must be at least 13 years of age to join.
You can sign up on the website or install the app first. After the registration form, you are taken to a tutorial. Go through it, so you fully understand how StickK works before you set up a commitment contract.
The app works on Android and iOS and includes all the features of the website. Based on my testing, it is relatively easy to use, and you will not see annoying pop-up ads. If you join, install the app so you do not miss a chance to submit your reports.
