Sweatcoin Review 2026: Is It Legit? My Tested Results and Payment Proof

Sweatcoin Rating

Sweatcoin is a legit mobile app that allows you to earn simply by walking or running. In terms of earning potential, it is really not the greatest app, but you will be able to earn without having to do anything special.

I have used Sweatcoin for years and have been paid by it. Below is my payment proof, how walking turns into coins, what you can get for them, and the limits you should know about before you install it.

Personally Tested Payout Verified Re-tested Oct 2026

Legit and effortless, but the rewards are low

It pays you in coins for walking. Easy and free, but cash is only for referrals and it takes time to earn rewards.

Good for you ifYou walk a lot anyway and want a small reward, or extra motivation to move, without any effort.
Skip it ifYou want to earn cash or earn fast. Then survey apps are a better fit.

The short answer

Sweatcoin is legit. It has paid me, and I recorded the payment on video. It turns your outdoor steps into coins while the app runs in the background, so you earn without doing anything special.

But the rewards are low. You get 0.95 coins per 1,052 steps on the free plan, with a limit of 10 coins a day. You spend the coins on products and discounts, not cash. The only way to get PayPal cash is to invite at least 30 people. Popular rewards sell out, and the bigger products go to auctions.

What I like
  • Offers a passive way of earning
  • Available in many countries: 150+
  • User-friendly app
  • Counts your steps even when you are offline
  • Can motivate you to move more
What I don’t like
  • Limited earning opportunities
  • Low rewards
  • PayPal cash only after 30 successful referrals
  • Rewards sell out, and bigger products are auctioned

My experience with Sweatcoin

I joined Sweatcoin when it was available in around 60 countries, and I have used the app for years. This is what I did myself, and what I did not test.

Is Sweatcoin legit and safe?

Yes, Sweatcoin is legit. I have been paid by it. But it has some glaring limitations. Here is what you should know before you start.

  • You earn very little per day

On the free plan, you get 0.95 coins per 1,052 steps, up to 10 coins a day. It can take quite some time to earn enough for the product or service you want.

  • Cash is only for referrals

The coins are spent inside the app. To get PayPal cash, you must successfully invite at least 30 people and become a Sweatcoin influencer.

  • Rewards sell out, and big products are auctioned

Offers are only available while supplies last. The most valuable products now go to daily auctions, so there is no guarantee you get the product you want, even with enough coins.

  • Bring your phone

Sweatcoin only counts walking and running, and only with your phone. When I tested it, it did not connect to wearables like Fitbit, Apple Watch or Garmin.

  • Premium costs money

The premium plan doubles your coins, but it costs around $8 a month or $42 a year. Start with the free plan for a couple of weeks before you decide.

My takeIn terms of earning potential, Sweatcoin is not the greatest app out there. But I can understand why it is popular: you earn without really doing anything special. It might take quite some time before you can redeem any rewards, but it also does not require much effort. At the same time, it can be a great way to move more, which has great health benefits.

How you earn on Sweatcoin

There are 3 ways to earn, plus groups and challenges that keep you moving. Walking is the main one. Tap one to read more.

Walking and running0.95 coins per 1,052 steps
Sweatcoin step counter dashboard

Let the app run in the background. It counts your outdoor steps automatically and shows the coins you have earned. On the free plan, you get 0.95 coins per 1,052 steps, up to 10 coins a day.

Sweatcoin uses Google Fit as its engine. It only tracks walking and running, not cycling. Bring your phone every time you go out, and connect to the internet regularly. The step counter keeps working offline, which helped me when I walked a lot abroad without a connection.

You can also set daily goals, your own or Sweatcoin’s recommendation, and collect a streak bonus when you reach them a certain number of times.

Referral program5 coins each, cash at 30
Sweatcoin referral program

You get an invitation link as soon as you join. Every person who joins through your link gives you 5 Sweatcoins.

When you reach 30 successful referrals, you become a Sweatcoin influencer. You then get an email that explains how to get paid in PayPal cash for inviting others, and access to the Influencer Marketplace. Read how to get referrals in a long-term, non-spammy way.

Daily rewardsOnce a day
Sweatcoin daily bonus

Go to the Rewards section, scroll down to Daily Rewards and click Claim. Then watch a short ad to the end. You can do it once per day. It takes almost no time or effort.

Groups and challengesNot paid

Create a group, invite other members or friends, and set challenges. This does not earn you coins, but it can make Sweatcoin more fun and keep you motivated to move.

Click to Check Out Sweatcoin for Yourself

How much can you make?

Technically, you only earn money by inviting people. The products you get with your coins have value too, but Sweatcoin does not pay much. How much you get depends on how often you go out with your phone.

The real value is that you do not have to do anything special. Let it run in the background and go about your day. In time, you will have enough coins to redeem rewards. It is not something to go after just for the rewards, but it rewards you for being active.

Premium doubles your coins for the same steps. In my opinion, it is only worth it if you move quite a lot. Start with the free plan for a couple of weeks and see if upgrading makes sense for you. If you want faster ways to earn on your phone, see the top paid survey apps.

How you get paid

RewardWhat you needNotes
Products, services and discountsEnough coins for the offer. No fixed threshold. While supplies last. Electronic rewards come by email; physical products are shipped.
Bigger products through auctionsUsually 15,000–20,000 Sweatcoins to have a chanceThe highest bid at the end of the day wins
PayPal cash30 successful referralsOnly for referrals, not for steps
SWEAT cryptoConnect the Sweat Wallet appWithdraw, convert, or earn interest

Your coins collect in your Sweatcoin account. Many offers are big discounts on a product; others you can pay in full with coins. If you see something you like and have enough coins, get it right away before it runs out.

Sweatcoin has also launched its own cryptocurrency, SWEAT. When you connect your Sweatcoin app to the Sweat Wallet app, you earn SWEAT next to your regular coins. My second proof video shows how this works.

  1. I can’t get any response from either sweatcoin or Tru beverage. They took the coins for my purchase and the order keeps getting rejected for invalid code, not right email and numerous other reasons. Then Tru used my email and sent me the very same offer to pay with cc this time. When I send sweatcoins a message they ask for me to write a letter explaining the problem and send screenshots which I already did when they told me the first time. I asked them to cancel and refund. Nothing done although it shows that I have made the transaction and that I have been unable to redeem. Saw what’s the problem? Sweatcoins or Tru?

  2. Sweatcoin has become a sham. I have used it for two months now and the “Boost” gets worse and worse all the time. One thing I have noticed is that it does not credit you all the steps you take (the algorithm sucks). I have the latest update. I have walked with the phone in my hand and in my pocket to no avail. Today I walked 2275 steps according to the counter on the app and after analysis, was credited with only 780. I was outside on a clear sunny day with my phone showing full signal. If they are trying to discourage people from using the app they are doing a good job.

  3. Well, as another long time user:
I got 55″ LED TV for 20 000 sweacoin without auction when it still was possible in 2020. So all together I was happy paying subscriber.
Then the auctions started that ruined everything. Nowadays auction winning bids are more like 30 000- 40 000 sweatcoins. Cheaper items sometimes go below 30K.
There are some non auction giftcards but I have never ever seen that there is something in stock and I have tried everything to get them. They are usually poor $/sweatcoin value anyway.
Then there are SWEAT cryptos – so far they are useless numbers in an app. You cannot get anything of real value. But if you want to transfer to another wallet or “put them in jar to grow”, you can do it (10% fee for transfer) but very soon the app tells you cannot do it any more because you have run out of NEAR, another cryptocurrency, and you need to BUY more with REAL money.
Since I had annual subscription and I am active cyclist and ultrarunner and adventure racer, I got a lot of steps, has ~28 000 sweatcoins and hoped to soon get something from bidding. Suddenly it sopped generating SWEAT or SWEATCOIN and after enquiring I got finally answer from support, that my account is now banned without further explanation. So basically they stole even my chance to win something for my time, money and battery usage.

  4. Mikael, it’s clear you’re not an established Sweatcoin user. Try talking to users who have had the Sweatcoin app for years, bid and won their auction, and have never received their auction item. Sweatcoin has paid you off with a bullshit review that you posted on their behalf. Sweatcoin is a scam and I’m sorry I ever became a Premium user.

    • I have actually used the app for years, and you can also see that if you had taken the time to read all the details above. I have not been paid at all to make this review, but it is based on my honest opinion and experiences. I, for example, also make it very clear that it is not a very effective way to earn and that if you want to earn extra money fast, you should use other options instead.

I understand you are frustrated, but no need to take that out on me. I welcome all feedback and people sharing their experiences here on my website but keep it in a proper tone and do not make fake accusations against me.

    • You can read what you need to do to get the rewards in the conditions for each reward. But pretty sure you misunderstood something as you would usually not get a watch for 5 Sweatcoins.

  7. Not really worth it. Everytime I try to get something with my sweat coins it always says it is sold out. So pretty much worthless.

    • The reason I am using it now is because it will soon offer its own crypto as a reward. What you earn now will be converted into the SWEAT coin soon.
