20 best alternatives to PineCone Research

There are many paid survey sites available. On the list below, I have only focused on the sites that are most like PineCone Research and the best of these.

This means sites that are simple and easy to use, and where the main way to make money is by taking surveys. There are also great sites, like for example Swagbucks and PrizeRebel, that offer many different ways to earn, but they are not on the list below, as they are not that similar to PineCone Research.

The list will give you an overview of sites that are all legit and give great opportunities for taking paid surveys. You can then click below each description to read more about how to join the sites that are the most relevant for you.

#1 TopSurveys

Cash out from
$5
Paid via
PayPal · Bank transfer · Gift cards +1 more

TopSurveys lets you earn rewards by answering surveys and completing offers. There are a good number of earning opportunities offered, so you can earn regularly from it.

You can get paid via PayPal or bank transfer. Aside from that, you can also redeem various gift cards. And to top it off, it also has an app you can download that works on both Android and iOS devices.

It is also available in many countries.

#2 Prime Opinion

Cash out from
$5$10 in some countries
Paid via
PayPal · Venmo · Bank transfer +2 more

Prime Opinion is a newer survey site and is one of the absolute best alternatives to Pinecone. It is an even better survey site, in my opinion.

It is easy to use, you will find a good number of paid surveys, and the surveys pay more than most other similar sites. You will also get a great joining bonus just for signing up.

You only need to earn $5 to take your earnings out, and once you have requested a payout, you will usually receive the payment within 30 minutes, which makes it one of the fastest-paying sites.

#3 Madai

Available in
Cash out from
$5
Paid via
PayPal · Amazon gift cards · Bitcoin vouchers

The survey site Madai lets you earn rewards by answering surveys. It’s quite a unique survey site because you can earn small rewards, even just by clicking certain buttons to get to the surveys you must answer.

Once you’ve reached the threshold of $5, you can withdraw your earnings via PayPal. You can also choose to get paid in Amazon gift cards, or you can get paid in Bitcoin vouchers.

What’s great about it is that it is available worldwide, so you should be able to sign up as a member anywhere in the world.

#4 Branded Surveys

Available in
Cash out from
$5
Paid via
PayPal · Bank transfer · Gift cards

Branded Surveys is a straightforward survey site that allows you to earn money by completing surveys and polls. The only downside is that it is only available in the US, UK, and Canada.

If you are eligible to join, you can get paid via PayPal, bank transfer, or gift cards once you’ve earned at least $5, which is a low payout threshold, in my opinion. So, you won’t have to wait very long to withdraw your earnings.

They also have a decent number of surveys available, so you can earn regularly from it.

#5 PaidViewpoint

Available in
Cash out from
$15the first time; then $10, then $5
Paid via
PayPal · Gift cards (some countries)

PaidViewpoint is unique, as is PineCone Research. They are, however, unique in different ways.

Both of them are sites that you should join if you live in a country where you can. PaidViewpoint is unique in the way that you will always qualify for the surveys you are offered, and the surveys are short multiple-choice surveys, so they are fast to do, and therefore pay pretty well in relation to the time you spend.

You can, in theory, join PaidViewpoint no matter where you live, but it is only in the US, Canada, the UK, and to some extent Australia that it gives you enough surveys to make any money. The payout method is PayPal, and you can get your earnings out when you have earned $15.

#6 NiceSurveys

Available in
Worldwide
Cash out from
Depends on your country
Paid via
PayPal · Gift cards · Venmo (US only)

What’s great about NiceSurveys is that it is a very simple survey site that lets you earn by answering surveys. Plus, it has a good number of surveys available at any given time, so you can earn regularly.

The payout options will depend on your location, but the most common option in most countries is PayPal. Aside from that, you can also redeem various gift cards or withdraw your earnings via Venmo if you live in the US. It is available worldwide, so you can sign up as a member anywhere in the world.

Best of all, it has an app you can use so you can easily earn from your phone.

#7 Survey Junkie

Available in
Cash out from
$5
Paid via
PayPal · Gift cards · Bank transfer (US)

Survey Junkie can be a great site to join instead of PineCone – it not only gives regular surveys, but at times, you can also get invites for phone interviews, focus groups, and more, which pay quite well.

It is a very user-friendly platform, so it is easy to get started with.

Once you have earned $5, you can get your earnings out through PayPal. In some countries, it also offers additional payout options.

#8 Toluna Influencers

Cash out from
$7to $10, by country
Paid via
PayPal · Gift cards · Products

Toluna has a few more options than PineCone Research, but the main way to earn here is still paid surveys. It does, however, offer surveys more often, and often you can find several surveys a day. It has panels in the local language in a wide range of countries.

In addition to taking surveys, you can also create content and interact with content created by other members, and this can earn you a little extra if your content is interesting enough.

But the only real way to make money on Toluna is through surveys. The payout methods vary from country to country, but you can get paid through PayPal and choose between many different gift cards in most countries.

#9 YouGov

Cash out from
€10when I tested; it depends on your country
Paid via
PayPal · Bank transfer · Prepaid Visa +2 more

YouGov is similar to PineCone Research in the way that it has some very interesting surveys you can participate in.

It has survey panels for many different countries in the local language, and you do not need an invitation to join. It is easy to use, and you will get an email every time there is a new survey available, and it has a good number of opportunities.

The exact rewards you can get depend on the country you live in. Some of the rewards you, in general, can choose from are PayPal, gift cards, and products.

#10 Triaba

Cash out from
$5to $15, by country
Paid via
PayPal · Gift cards · Crypto +1 more

Triaba is a very simple survey panel with a local panel in around 47 countries, with surveys in the local language.

As an extra alternative to PineCone, it can be great, but you should not join it as the only site, as it does not give enough earning opportunities for this.

You can get your earnings out when you have earned $7 and get them via PayPal or gift cards, depending on the country you live in.

#11 Pawns

Cash out from
$54% fee for PayPal
Paid via
PayPal · Bitcoin · Payoneer +2 more

If you want to earn by taking surveys on your phone, Pawns can be a good option.

It offers paid surveys through the app in around 100 countries. You can also earn passively just by having it installed and sharing your unused internet.

Once you have earned $5, you can take your earnings out as Bitcoin, PayPal cash, or gift cards. In some countries, it will even allow you to transfer your earnings directly to your bank account.

#12 RedMonkey

Available in
Cash out from
$0.50500 points; depends on the reward
Paid via
Crypto · Gift cards

RedMonkey is a Get-Paid-To site that offers several ways to earn. You can answer surveys, complete offers, and play the spin-the-wheel game. There are a good number of offers and surveys available at any given time, so you can earn regularly from them.

You can get paid in crypto, or you can also redeem various gift cards. It is available worldwide, so you can sign up as a member regardless of where you live.

#13 Surveyeah

Cash out from
$10usually; up to $50 for some rewards
Paid via
PayPal · Gift cards · Ebooks

Surveyeah is available in around 60 countries and has surveys in the local language.

It is not the site with the most surveys, but as it is easy to use and does not take much extra effort, it can still be a great site to join, even if you only get a few extra surveys per month from it.

You can get your earnings out through either PayPal or as Amazon gift cards, and the payouts start at $10.

#14 ySense

Cash out from
$5 gift cards$10 PayPal
Paid via
PayPal · Payoneer · AirTM +2 more

ySense (used to be called ClixSense) is the site on this list that is the least similar to PineCone Research. It is, however, still an easy-to-use site, where the main way to earn is by taking surveys. You do, however, have to log in to the site to check the opportunities, and it can take a little more patience to find the surveys you qualify for.

What is great about ySense is that it is available in more or less worldwide and gives decent earning opportunities in most countries. You can get paid through PayPal, Payoneer, Skrill, and gift cards. Some of the payout methods are only available in some countries.

But overall, it is a site with great earning opportunities where it is easy to reach the $5 payout threshold.

#15 LifePoints Panel

Available in
Cash out from
$5to $10, by country
Paid via
PayPal · Gift cards

LifePoints Panel is one of the newer survey sites, as it was launched after the merger of the two sites, MySurveys and GlobalTestMarket.

Once you sign up, you will start receiving email invitations for surveys, and you will get invites fairly often.

The exact payout methods and threshold depend on the country you live in, but it starts at around $10, and in most countries, you can at least get your earnings via PayPal.

#16 Ipsos i-Say

Available in
Cash out from
$5to $10by country and reward
Paid via
Gift cards · PayPal (some countries) · Venmo (some countries)

Ipsos i-Say has specific survey panels in the local language for around 100 countries. Like PineCone Research, it is easy to use, and you receive an email when there is a new survey available. There are not a huge number of surveys available on Ipsos i-Say, but the surveys that are there are usually about interesting, current, and relevant topics.

Ipsos does have a few other ways to make money in addition to surveys, as you can participate in contests, and in some countries, it has a loyalty program, where you get a bonus the more active you are.

But in all countries, the main way to earn is by taking surveys. The exact payout methods depend on your country, but examples are PayPal, Amazon gift cards, gift cards, and products.

#17 Prolific

Available in
Cash out from
$6or £6
Paid via
PayPal

Prolific is another unique survey panel, and even though it is unique in a very different way from PineCone Research, it deserves a spot on this list.

It is a platform where researchers go to get answers for their surveys, and you are therefore only offered research studies here, so by participating, you will contribute directly to new and important research.

Prolific is available in around 34 countries. You will, however, not be offered many surveys in most countries, but it depends a lot on where researchers at any given moment are looking for participants. So make sure to also join other survey sites to get enough earning opportunities. On Prolific, you can get paid through PayPal or Circle once you have earned $7.

#18 Mobrog

Available in
Cash out from
$6.25or €5
Paid via
PayPal · Venmo · Bank transfer +1 more

Mobrog is another survey panel that has a lot of sites all over the world in the local language, which makes it more user-friendly.

It sends a good amount of survey invitations, but it can, at times, take some patience to find the ones you qualify for. But with a bit of patience, it can be a great extra site to join.

You can get your earnings out when you have earned $6.25 through PayPal or Skrill.

#19 Opinion Outpost

Available in
US, UK, Canada, Germany
Cash out from
$5to $10, by country
Paid via
PayPal · Amazon gift cards · Gift cards

Opinion Outpost is another very easy-to-use survey site. It has different names in different countries, but it is available in the countries mentioned above.

It gives a decent number of surveys – you will not qualify for all of them, but as an extra survey site, it can be great to join.

The exact payout methods and threshold depend on the country you live in, but most countries offer PayPal as one of the options, and you can get them out when you have earned $5-$10.

#20 Opinion Bureau

Available in
Cash out from
$5around; depends on your country
Paid via
PayPal · Amazon gift cards

Opinion Bureau is not a site I would recommend as the only site if you are looking for a site like PineCone Research, but it can be a great extra site to join.

It is very simple to use – it does not give the biggest number of surveys, but it does give some, and you can get your earnings out already when you have earned $5.

You can get your earnings out in cash via PayPal or as gift cards.

Why look for sites like PineCone Research?

PineCone Research used to be a good survey site. But since the update, it has become harder to earn from it. So it is not a must-join survey site anymore, in my opinion.

Before the update

You could only join PineCone Research through an invitation.

Since the update

Anyone can sign up, but it has become harder to earn from it. It also went through a few other changes.

If you are not a member yet, my PineCone Research review shows what kind of site it is now.

The main reason: more surveys

Joining several sites gives you access to more earning opportunities. But do not just join any site. Some are just a waste of time.

On this list

Sites that are simple and easy to use, where the main way to make money is taking surveys, like on PineCone Research.

Not on this list

Great sites like Swagbucks and PrizeRebel offer many different ways to earn, so they are not that similar to PineCone Research.

How much can you make by joining more sites?

Paid surveys are a really good way to earn extra cash. But you need the right expectations. If not, you will quickly give up.

Do not expect a full-time income

If any site claims you can earn a full-time income from surveys, it is most certainly a scam site that you should avoid.

  • Anybody can do itSurvey sites are one of the easiest ways to start making money online.
  • No riskThere is no investment, so you make a profit from day one.
  • More sites, more surveysIf you join several sites, there are good opportunities to make some nice extra cash.

Join 6 to 8 sites for a start

That gives you a good number of opportunities.

How the 20 sites pay youNumber of sites that offer each payout method. Many sites offer more than one.
  • PayPal19 of 20
  • Gift cards19 of 20
  • Bank transfer6 of 20
  • Crypto4 of 20

How I choose the sites on this list

What I look at

  • Simple and easy to use
  • Taking surveys is the main way to earn
  • Legit, and you can join without an invitation
  • Good opportunities for paid surveys

Frequently asked questions

What is the highest paying legit survey site?

Of the sites on this list, Prime Opinion stands out: its surveys pay more than most similar sites, and you usually get your money within 30 minutes. Which site pays best for you also depends on your country.

All the sites in the comparison are legit, and I have tested them myself.

What are the top 5 paid survey sites?

On this list, my top 5 alternatives to PineCone Research are TopSurveys, Prime Opinion, Madai, Branded Surveys and PaidViewpoint. Branded Surveys is only for the US, the UK and Canada, and PaidViewpoint gives enough surveys mainly in the US, Canada, the UK and Australia.

Which survey site pays fastest?

Prime Opinion is one of the fastest-paying sites I know: after you ask for a payout, you usually get it within 30 minutes. You can cash out from $5 in most countries.

Does TopSurveys actually pay?

Yes. I tested TopSurveys myself and got paid through PayPal. You can cash out from $5 to PayPal, by bank transfer or as gift cards. It is #1 on this list.

Are any paid survey sites legit?

Yes. All the sites on this list are legit, free to join and pay their members. Taking surveys has no risk, because you do not invest anything.

Stay away from any site that says you can earn a full-time income from surveys. That is most certainly a scam.

Can you make $100 a day doing surveys?

Do not expect that. Paid surveys are a good way to earn extra cash, not a full-time income. Join 6 to 8 sites for a start, so you get a good number of surveys.

  1. Hey Mikael, just wanted to let you know if you had not seen yet on regards to Prolific……You can do instant cash out at $ 5.00 and it is instantly to Paypal, not $ 7.00, do not quote me…but….I think the first cash out thru Paypal, may have some stipulation…I can not remember cause it has been a while, but you can look into that…Okay, well thanks again for all your help and knowledge. Without you, I would not be doing surveys and making this side cash and gift cards. I have become a Amazon monster, LOL…just kidding. Take care . Darlene

  2. Hi Mikael,
A very interesting read! I have tried doing surveys in the past but got fed up with all of the emails coming through all the time and I never seemed to “Qualify” for the survey after going through many questions.
I like how you have a brief overview and the pros and cons about your selected survey sites and then I can click through to find out more information. I also like that you included sites that are not only US based.
Perhaps I might try a few out and see what they are like.

Out of interest – how much time would you spend on doing surveys?

    Cheers
    Melanie

    • Hi Melanie,

How long time it is necessary to spend on surveys is very difficult to say, as it depends very much on the particular sites you join. And it is also up to you how many of the surveys you are offered you want to participate in. You can just do 5 minutes of spend several hours a day.

Personally, for me it differs from day to day how much time I spend. Some days only 5-10 minutes. Other days 1-2 hours. It depends how much time I have and which surveys I am offered.

  3. Hello,

I have been interested in doing surveys in the past as a way to make money online but I was skeptical about actually getting paid for my work, or I would see crazy high payout claims like how you mentioned scam sites.

Other times I would come across a site that said $3 for a 30 min survey. that’s only $6 a hr so I passed. I’m not sure if you have any articles about the highest paying legit survey site but that would be a good read. Anyways just wanted to say great article.

    • Hi Chucky,

Thanks for the feedback. PineCone Research is one of the absolute highest paying sites, but which sites that are the best in general depends a lot on the country you live in. I have made lists of the best sites in several countries – you can check these out and see the highest paying sites in your country.

Hope this helps and let me know, if you have any more questions.
