The short answer

myWorld has shut down because of legal issues. You can no longer join or earn there.

When it was running, it was a legit cashback platform with a lot of deals. But it did not have deals from the most popular retailers, the usual cashback rates were 2% to 6%, and a bank transfer was the only way to withdraw your cash.

What I like
  • A good number of cashback deals
  • A user-friendly app for Android and iOS
  • Available more or less worldwide
What I don’t like
  • myWorld has shut down
  • No cashback deals from the most popular retailers
  • Only one payment method: a bank transfer

My experience with myWorld

I looked at myWorld’s cashback deals, the browser plugin, the app with its Scan & Go feature, and the way you redeemed shopping points. This is what I did myself, and what I did not test.

Was myWorld legit and safe?

myWorld has shut down because of legal issues, so you can no longer join or earn on it. When it was running, you could earn cashback rewards from it. These were the catches.

  • It has shut down

The myWorld platform has shut down because of legal issues.

  • Only a bank transfer

To withdraw cash, you had to link your bank account. It was the only withdrawal option, next to eVouchers.

  • No deals from the biggest retailers

Its partner stores were not the usual ones on cashback sites. There were no deals from stores like Walmart, BestBuy or Amazon.

  • Every detail counted

If you missed one step or requirement of a deal, you did not get the cashback. A receipt you scanned had to be fully readable, or you got nothing.

My takemyWorld has shut down, so it is no longer an option. When it was running, it was not a bad cashback platform, but not a great one either. See the alternatives below.

How you earned on myWorld

There were two ways to earn on myWorld, plus shopping points to boost your cashback. Tap each one to read more.

Online cashback dealsUsually 2% to 6%
Cashback offers on myWorld

You shopped at the online store of one of myWorld’s partners. You could find a deal in the member dashboard and click “Shop Online Now”, use the browser plugin for Firefox and Chrome, which applied deals for you at the store, or use the app.

Read all the details of a deal first: if you missed one step or requirement, you did not get the cashback. myWorld did not say how long the cashback took to reach your balance. On other cashback platforms, it usually takes around 30 to 60 days, to clear the store’s refund period.

Scan & GoCashback and points
Scanning receipts with myWorld

After a purchase at one of the partner stores in your city, you took a photo of the receipt with the app. myWorld reviewed it and added the cashback and shopping points.

The photo could not be blurry. If even one detail on the receipt was not readable, you did not get the cashback.

Shopping pointsA higher cashback
Redeeming shopping points on myWorld

Every deal and receipt also gave you shopping points. You could use them to get a higher cashback on a deal. The number of points a deal needed depended on how much you could save.

How much could you make?

It depended on your shopping habits. If you shopped online often, or often went to one of its local partner stores, you could earn a decent amount.

The cashback deals usually paid 2% to 6%. Some paid more, but those were few and far between, and from less popular stores. There were a lot of deals, which matters most on a cashback platform, but no deals from popular retailers like Walmart, BestBuy or Amazon. That made it a decent secondary cashback platform at best.

How myWorld paid

You could use your cashback to buy various eVouchers, or withdraw it to your bank account from $10.

MethodMinimumNotes
Bank transfer$10You had to link your bank account

If you do not want to link your bank account to a site, this was not for you. For other sites that pay to your bank, see the top sites that pay via direct bank transfer.

  1. I have read your review and being a marketer with my world I would just like to point out that the big companies like Walmart etc probably have their own cashback system so therefore would not be interested in joining up …I’m sure our guys that seek out partners approach all the big companies so it’s not my world’s fault if they don’t come on board….what I like about my world is that there is 2 parts to it.. the other is called Lyconet where you can actually build a huge shopping community..
The idea is create a shopping community that consists of customers, merchant partners and a team of Lyconet marketers and benefit from a percentage of shopping transactions created through normal shopping.
