I signed up for Fair Opinions to see if it is worth your time. It is legit and pays a decent amount per survey, but there are not many surveys. Below is what I found, how the payouts work, and what to know before you join.
Legit, but too few surveys to earn regularly
A decent rate per survey and a small reward when you are screened out. Only five countries, with the most surveys in the US.

The short answer
Fair Opinions is legit. You can really earn from the surveys you answer. Most users earn around $0.50 to $3 per survey, according to the website, which is not a bad rate.
But the earning opportunities are fairly limited, so it takes a while before you can earn a significant amount. It is only available in five countries, with the most surveys in the US. It can be worth checking out as an extra survey site, not as your main one.
- Convenient payout options: PayPal, Venmo, bank transfer and gift cards
- Gift cards from 250 points ($2.50)
- You get a small reward even when you do not qualify for a survey
- A joining bonus of up to $5
- Mobile-friendly website without pop-up ads
- Limited earning opportunities
- Only available in five countries
- You must confirm your phone number to register
- The joining bonus options are vague
- The site does not say what the referral program pays

See the best alternativesIs Fair Opinions legit and safe?
Yes, Fair Opinions looks like a legit site, since you can really earn from it. But that does not mean you should sign up right away. Here is what you should know.
- There are few surveys
When I tested the site, there were not a lot of surveys available, and only short ones. How many you get depends mostly on your location. This is what limits the earning potential the most.
- You must share your phone number
After you register, Fair Opinions sends a confirmation code to your mobile number. There is no way around this step. If you are not comfortable sharing your number, this site is not for you.
- The joining bonus is vague
You choose between bonus options after you sign up, but the site does not explain well how they work. In my experience, a higher bonus usually comes with a condition, like a higher threshold or a longer wait before you can claim it.
- Only five countries
Fair Opinions is only available in the US, UK, Canada, Australia and New Zealand. It has the most opportunities in the US.
My takeIn my opinion, Fair Opinions is not a bad survey site. It pays a decent amount per survey, but the earning opportunities are fairly limited. As an extra survey site, it can be worth checking out, especially if you live in the US. But make sure you also join other sites to get more opportunities.
How you earn on Fair Opinions
There are 2 ways to earn, plus a small reward when you are screened out. Paid surveys are the main one. Tap one to read more.
Paid surveysAround $0.50 to $3 each
Log in to the member dashboard to see the surveys. Fair Opinions also emails you when there are surveys, so you do not have to keep checking.
First pick a category by survey length: 5 to 10 minutes, 10 to 20 minutes, or 20+ minutes. A category without surveys cannot be chosen. When I tested the site, there were only short surveys available.
The first time you pick a category, you answer profiling questions for a small number of points. Then you go through the qualifying process for each survey. If you qualify, you answer the survey and get the promised points.
Disqualification rewardUp to 15 points
Even when you are screened out of a survey, you earn up to 15 points for your time. It is not much, but not a lot of survey sites do this. See the best sites that offer a disqualification bonus.
Referral programRewards unclear
Fair Opinions has a referral program, but it does not say what you get for inviting people. Most survey sites tell you right away, so this surprised me.
How much can you make?
It depends mostly on how many surveys you can complete, and that depends on your location. In the US, UK or Canada, there are more surveys for you to answer.
Most users earn around $0.50 to $3 per survey, according to the website. That is not a bad rate, but you will not qualify for every survey, so it takes patience to reach the threshold.
The joining bonus of up to $5 makes your first cashout easier. After that, it takes quite a while to cash out again, because of the limited earning opportunities. That is why I would not recommend it to my friends as a main site.
Payout methods and minimums
| Method | Minimum | Notes |
|---|---|---|
| PayPal | 1,000 points ($10) | The most common option |
| Gift cards | From 250 points ($2.50) | The minimum varies per card |
| Venmo | $10 | US only |
| Direct bank transfer | $25 | US only |
The rewards you can choose depend on your country. Overall, the payout system is straightforward and convenient. I like that it offers PayPal and bank transfer.
Your first withdrawal can take a bit longer while Fair Opinions verifies everything.

Be aware that I have just reviewed the site. If you have any issues, you need to contact their support.
Also, if it is your first time withdrawing it can take a bit longer to verify everything. And it is also during a weekend which can also lead to delays. Overall, if you have done everything honestly, you do not have anything to worry about, in my experience, and should soon receive your payment.
Keep me updated.
