I tested Betabound to see if you can earn by testing the latest software and hardware. You can find legit beta tests on it, but it does not pay you to take part. Below is what I found, and which sites I would pick first if you want to be paid for your feedback.
A list of legit beta tests, but you do not get paid
Good for tech fans who want to try new programs and gadgets. It does not pay you for tests, so it is not a way to earn money.

The short answer
Betabound gives you access to legit beta tests of tech products, such as programs and even hardware. It used to be called OnlineBeta, and it is owned by a company called Centercode.
Betabound does not pay you to take part in the tests it lists. It is a collection of links to beta tests, and it does not conduct the tests itself. Only its Ambassador Program rewards you, for recruiting new testers. If you want to earn a bit for giving feedback, Betabound is not the right platform.

- Available globally
- You can see most tests without signing up
- Mobile-friendly website

Is Betabound legit and safe?
Betabound lists legit beta tests. But you need to join it with the right expectations. Here is what you should know.
- You do not get paid
Betabound does not pay you to take part in the tests it lists. It says rewards make the feedback unreliable. In my opinion, this is a really poor argument. If you spend an hour or more on a beta test, you of course want to be compensated for it.
- Rewards from companies are not guaranteed
Some companies give you some kind of reward once the test is completed. But there is no guarantee of this, and Betabound has nothing to do with these rewards.
- It is just a list of links
Betabound does not conduct the tests. You do not take them on Betabound, and it is not responsible for the tests or how many you get access to. You can see links to most of the tests on its website without signing up.
- Your details for the Ambassador Program
To become an Ambassador, you fill out an extended profile with your address, phone number and more. Think about whether you want to share that.
My takeBetabound might be worth considering if you are into tech products and like to test out new programs and gadgets. That is the real value this site offers. If you would like to earn a bit for giving feedback, Betabound is not the right platform, as it does not pay you anything. There are better sites that will allow you to do that.
How Betabound works
There are 2 ways to take part. Only the Ambassador Program rewards you. Tap one to read more.
Testing projectsNot paid
First you set up test platform profiles. You pick a technology category and answer a few profiling questions, like a short survey. Only make a profile for a technology you already own, for example gaming.
Betabound uses your profiles to qualify you for testing programs. When there are tests for you, you see them on your dashboard under Available Opportunities. Every test has a set of instructions you need to follow.
It can take patience to find a test you can take part in. And Betabound does not pay you for it.
Ambassador ProgramRewards for referrals
The Ambassador Program is a special opt-in group. You help recruit new testers for specific opportunities, by telling people in your area or network, or your friends, family and colleagues. You are rewarded directly based on how many qualified candidates you find who actively join and take part in that test.
You apply by filling out an extended profile, with your address, phone number and more. You receive instructions on how to invite people once you join.
How much can you make?
There is no guarantee you will earn anything for taking part in tests through Betabound. It does not believe you can give proper feedback if it pays you.
I think this is a huge drawback, because the tests usually take quite some time, and many other sites do pay you to give feedback. Then again, it might not be so strange when you look at what Betabound really is: a collection of links to beta tests, and it has nothing to do with the tests themselves.
So, only join Betabound if you are really passionate about tech beta tests and do not care about getting paid for it.
Who can join, and can you get support?
Betabound is available globally, so you can sign up wherever you live. Fill out the sign-up form or use your Google account, then click the verification link in your email.
The website is mobile-friendly. Most of the work is done on a computer, unless you are asked to test a mobile app or game.
For support, there is a contact form. There is no FAQ page, but the blog covers the most important topics, and some of its posts are informative and useful.
