AskingCanadians Rating

AskingCanadians isn’t a bad survey site but it’s not that great either. In my opinion, AskingCanadians is not a good primary site to earn from, but it can be a decent supplementary site.

AskingCanadians rewards people in Canada for answering surveys. I joined and tested it to see what it offers. Below is what I found, what readers report, and which sites I would pick first.

It also has few surveys and no cash rewards, only Amazon gift cards or points on partner platforms. It is not a good primary site to earn from. There are many better survey sites in Canada.

Is AskingCanadians legit and safe?

AskingCanadians is a real survey site that rewards you for completing surveys. Some readers report problems when they try to redeem. Here is what you should know before you join.

  • Some readers report login problems

Since 2024, several readers told me they could not log in, or never received the password reset email, so they could not redeem the points they had earned. The latest report is from July 2026.

  • Readers report emails without a reply

One reader who could not redeem wrote that they sent several emails and AskingCanadians ignored them.

  • No cash rewards

You choose one reward type: AC Points for Amazon gift cards, Aeroplan Points or 7Rewards. AskingCanadians does not pay cash.

  • Few surveys

Based on my testing, there are not many surveys. Each survey also has a maximum number of respondents, so answer as soon as you can.

My takeAskingCanadians isn’t a bad survey site, but it’s not that great either. In my opinion, it is not a good primary site to earn from. Some readers also report login problems when they redeem. How you earn on AskingCanadians

There is only one way to earn: paid surveys.

Paid surveys50 to 300 points

You get an email when there is a survey for you, or you log in and see all the surveys you can answer. Every survey shows the reward and the estimated time before you start.

First you answer a few qualifying questions. If you do not qualify, you still get a small reward, or an entry in the prize draw for the reward you chose. If you qualify, you answer the survey and get the promised reward.

Each survey has a maximum number of respondents. When that number is met, AskingCanadians stops accepting members for it, so answer surveys as soon as you can. Based on my testing, there are not that many surveys, so it is quite hard to earn regularly.

How much can you make?

It depends on how many surveys you are invited to, and you have no control over that.

A survey typically pays 50 to 300 points, depending on how long it takes. There are also surveys worth 2,000 points or more, but I never got one during my testing.

Overall, the earning potential of AskingCanadians is not that great, even though it pays a decent amount per survey. When there are no surveys, which happens a lot, you earn nothing.

Reward options and minimum

RewardMinimumNotes
AC Points for Amazon gift cards500 points ($5)100 points = $1. Shows in your account quickly.
Aeroplan PointsSet by AeroplanRedeem on the Aeroplan platform. Takes longer to show.
7RewardsSet by 7RewardsRedeem on the 7Rewards platform. Takes longer to show.

You can only choose one reward type. AskingCanadians used to offer five; now it offers three. You can switch in your account settings, and the next survey you complete pays in the new reward type. I chose AC Points, because you receive them quickly.

Some readers report they could not log in to redeem their points. AskingCanadians does not offer cash. For sites that do, see the top sites that pay via PayPal.

  1. Opps I should say every time I try and get in to redeem them I can’t get into that part anymore. It just keeps telling me I need to redo my password…when I do that there is no place to redeem my points! This has become rediculous….all I want is my 158.00 email Walmart cards owing to me! Is this a scam…it use to be so efficient as I have done this for years!

    • Do you mean you have earned $158 or 158 points? But no matter what it is definitely frustrating that they do not get back to you. Please keep me updated about this – hope you get your money soon.

  2. I got an askingcanadians survey request that said “update your LOI” and said the survey was for “-1” points (yes, a negative number) but it also stated further down if I didn’t meet the requirments I’d get 2 points. What is that all about? What does “update your LOI” mean? Was this a phishing attempt?

    • That sounds very strange. Make sure to double-check the address it was sent from and maybe reach out to their support and ask before clicking anything.

      • I have accumulated 158.00 in points and they refuse to honour it. There is now no place you can redeem them. I have sent several emails to them and they just ignore it.

  3. I withdrew my consent for cookies. There was no checkbox for selecting the ones that would be acceptable. Then I was kicked out of the survey. But AC still has all my personal information that can be shared. Seems scammy to me.

    • Asking Canadians sent me an email as I had 720 points and can redeem a minimum of 500 points. But I was unable to logon to the site, kept saying Password was not correct. I clicked on Forgot Password and Asking Canadians said to check my email to find out how to reset password. But no email came for Asking Canadians. Did Forgot Password several times, but still No Reset Password email from Asking Canadians. So I can never redeem the points I’ve earned. What a ripoff.
