The short answer

Angus Reid Forum is a legit survey site, and I show my payment proof in my video. It is backed by sociologist Angus Reid, a well-known name in polling and market research since 1979. Its surveys look like a chat window, and you will not find them on other platforms.

But you need 2,500 points ($25) before you can redeem anything, and you can only redeem in steps of 2,500 points. Survey frequency varies, so see it as a supplementary source of extra money. It is only open in Canada and the US.

What I like

What I don’t like
  • Fairly high payment threshold
  • Variable survey frequency
  • You can only redeem in steps of 2,500 points ($25)
  • Only available in Canada and the US
  • No mobile app

Is Angus Reid Forum legit and safe?

Yes, Angus Reid Forum is a legit survey site. But that does not automatically mean you should sign up. Here is what you should know before you join.

  • A $25 threshold, redeemed in steps of $25

You need 2,500 points ($25) before you can redeem a reward, and you can only redeem in increments of 2,500 points. It can take some time to get there, depending on how active you are.

  • Survey frequency varies

You are guaranteed at least 1 survey per month. From what I have heard as feedback and seen myself, many members get surveys more often, often around 1 per week. It should still be viewed as a supplementary, rather than consistent, source of extra money.

  • Inactive accounts lose their points

You have to respond to a survey within the last 6 consecutive months to keep your account active. Otherwise, Angus Reid Forum terminates your account, and all the points you have accumulated are forfeited.

  • Do not speed through surveys

Angus Reid Forum now has a fraud-detection system that filters out bots and low-quality responses. If you speed through a survey, you risk triggering it.

  • Some readers report rewards that did not arrive

Several readers write that a reward did not arrive or that they could not find where to redeem their points. Angus Reid Forum says to allow up to 2 weeks for processing. If it takes longer, use the contact form.

My takeAngus Reid Forum is a legit survey site that rewards you for completing surveys. They have a solid support system, which is always good. I also like that you can find unique, user-friendly surveys here, though it may take some time to reach the payment threshold. If you live in Canada or the USA and value contributing to research and polling and earn a bit extra at the same time, it can be a worthwhile option to join.

How you earn on Angus Reid Forum

Paid surveys are the only real way to earn. The welcome journey and the profile survey give you a head start. Tap one to read more.

Paid surveysUp to 500 points each

What is unique about these surveys is that it feels like you are chatting with another person. The interface looks like a chat window, not the one you usually see on other survey sites. I was pleasantly surprised when I encountered it during testing.

The process is the same as on other survey sites. First, you go through a qualifying process. If you qualify, you answer the actual survey. If you get disqualified, you move on to the next survey. Once you complete a survey, you receive the promised number of points.

Angus Reid Forum says the maximum reward for a survey is 500 points ($5). That is not for every survey, but it does have some quite high-paying surveys. The surveys are unique, and you will not find them on other platforms.

Welcome journey and SMS opt-in400 + 200 points

When you first join, you earn 400 points ($4) by completing the welcome journey. If you opt into SMS, you get another 200 points ($2). That way, you get 25% of the way toward your first redemption shortly after signing up.

Profile survey100 points

Update your profile once you are logged in to the member dashboard. This gives you the best possible chance of receiving survey invites. The profile survey is worth 100 points.

Point boosts and “surprise and delight”From time to time

Angus Reid Forum has regular point boosts and an ongoing “surprise and delight” program that can help you reach the threshold faster, so keep an eye out for these opportunities.

How much can you make?

It depends on the number of invites you receive, the number of surveys you decide to take, and the number of surveys you qualify for.

You are guaranteed at least one survey invite per month, but most members receive at least one invite per week, and many receive more. The maximum reward for a survey is 500 points ($5). I have been told that more surveys will likely become available as the panel grows.

With the welcome journey and the SMS opt-in, you start with 600 points, so even though the threshold is fairly high, it is not too hard to get there. Still, see Angus Reid Forum as a source of extra money next to other survey sites.

Rewards, minimum and processing time

RewardMinimumProcessing
Gift cards: Amazon, Best Buy, Boston Pizza, Cineplex, iTunes and more2,500 points ($25)Up to 2 weeks, usually a few days for me
Prepaid Visa card2,500 points ($25)Up to 2 weeks
PayPal cash2,500 points ($25)Up to 2 weeks

Every survey pays a set number of Angus Reid points. 2,500 points are worth $25, and you can only redeem rewards in increments of 2,500 points. It is not the most convenient method in my opinion, because you have to keep waiting for your balance to reach 2,500 points again.

Angus Reid Forum says to allow up to 2 weeks for processing, which is a bit slow for an electronic gift card. In my experience, the payment is often processed faster, usually within a few days.

Processing times are what Angus Reid Forum states and what I saw myself. Which rewards you see depends on whether you join the Canada or the USA panel.

  1. I keep getting survey offers with a reward of 100 points. I do the survey and then they only give me 10 points! This has now happened 5 times. I started taking screen grabs to prove it before I opted out. Don’t wast your time as you need minimum 2500 to cash out a $25 gift card.

  2. Took a 2 hour zoom survey and AR said they were going to give a $200 Amazon’s gift card. Never received it. They said they sent it after many many emails. Lies BS. Do not waste your precious time.

  3. It seems impossible to get to the spot where one can look up the amount of points accumulated.
There seems to be a problem with many of the people participating in the surveys. The directives are not necessarily clear. I have a few other accounts that accumulate points, and the access to the information I require is relatively easy. Participants need more concise details in this area.

  4. I do this as well as my husband. It takes a while to accumulate the points but works pretty smoothly! He even did a full survey for $50 etransfer, not just gift cards which was cool. Tips: do them ASAP as they disappear quickly. Don’t say that you or anyone in you family works in marketing ect (usually a question at the beginning of the survey) and lastly make sure that in questions like “do you make decisions regarding the purchase of xyz” (again usually a question at the beginning) make sure that you say yes to that.

  5. After about 4 years, I have accumulated 2800 points, but I see no way to get to anywhere on their website where I can redeem the points. They really don’t want to make it easy to get something from them.

  6. I have yet to get my reward, and they refuse to answer any of my emails. They are the worst survey site ever and it’s been almost a month since I have given them my reward points. It also had taken me about 2 years to accrue 2500 pts. I am literally done with them, they are nothing but a scam.

  7. This is a scam. I have accrued 3200+ points. When I try to redeem, I am told my password is wrong. I have requested a reset email repeatedly. They tell me it’s been sent, but I have never recieved the reset email.
I have tried repeatedly to use their contact form, but I am told my email address is invalid. Yet it is the same address they send the surveys to.
I have write and mail a letter to the address listed at the bottom of their survey emails only to have it “returned to sender!” It has been total waste of time.

    Reply
  8. These people have yet to give me my reward incentive and all attempts at communicating with them the way explained on their website have fallen by the wayside. It’s been more than 2 weeks though. I’m not recommending them.
