I looked at how Wonderslist pays writers for top 10 list articles. It is legit and pays through PayPal, but you get only $5 for a 1,500-word article, and only if it is published. Below is what I found, and which sites I recommend instead.

Legit, but $5 for a 1,500-word article is not worth your time
You write top 10 list articles and get $5 by PayPal for each one that is published. No guarantee your article is accepted.

The short answer
Wonderslist is legit. It is a website with top 10 lists, and you can really earn if you write one for them. Published articles are paid through PayPal immediately.
But you earn only $5 for an article of at least 1,500 words, which is far below market rates, and there is no guarantee Wonderslist publishes what you submit. If it doesn’t, you earn nothing. You are better off with freelance sites or the survey and GPT sites I recommend below.
- Paid through PayPal
- No payout threshold: paid immediately when your article is published
- Open to writers wherever they live
- Low rewards: $5 per published article
- No guaranteed way to earn: an article that is not published pays nothing
- No member dashboard: you submit by email every time
- No FAQ or help page
- You need a computer to write

Is Wonderslist legit and safe?
Yes, Wonderslist is legit, because you can really earn if you write an article for them. But being legit doesn’t always mean it is worth your time. Here is what you should know.
- No guarantee you get paid
Wonderslist does not have to publish what you submit. If your article is not published, you earn nothing, and the time you spent on a well-researched article is lost.
- Far below market rates
$5 for a well-researched, well-written article of 1,500 words is significantly less than writers are normally paid for that work.
- Strict rules and banned topics
Your article must be original, error-free and follow the editorial guidelines. Gambling, casinos, hacking, weapons, adult content, drugs, alcohol, tobacco and content against an individual, group or organization are off-limits.
- You share a bio, a headshot and your PayPal address
With every submission, you email your links, your bio, your headshot and your PayPal address to [email protected].
- You repeat the process every time
There is no member dashboard. Unless you are chosen for the writing team, you email every article and wait to see if it gets published.
My takeIn my opinion, Wonderslist is not worth your time because of the low rewards it offers. Getting paid $5 for a 1,500-word article that is well-researched and well-written is not good enough, because it will take a lot of time and effort to write one. Plus, there’s no guarantee you will earn from all the articles you submit. You are better off joining freelance sites, where you can find regular writing gigs that pay a decent amount per article.
Wonderslist pays $5 per published article, with no guarantee. These sites in your country offer guaranteed ways to earn.
See the best sites in your countryHow you earn on Wonderslist
There is 1 way to earn: writing top 10 list articles.
Writing top 10 list articles$5 if published
Write an original top 10 list of at least 1,500 words on a topic that has never been published on Wonderslist. Present the items in descending order, in English, free of grammar and formatting errors.
With your article, send the links to include, your bio and your headshot. Follow the editorial guidelines: some topics are off-limits.
Wonderslist earns from the many ads on its site, so in reality it shares ad revenue with you for content. If your article is accepted, Wonderslist may consider you for its writing team, and then all your articles are accepted automatically.
How much can you make?
You earn $5 per approved article. That is quite a low rate: search online for what a well-researched, well-written 1,500-word article normally pays, and you will find it is significantly more.
So Wonderslist is underpaying you. Even if you are invited to the writing team, the pay stays below market value, and outside the team there is no guaranteed way to earn. Its earning potential is very low.
How you get paid
| Method | Minimum | Speed |
|---|---|---|
| PayPal | None | Immediately when your article is published |
Send your PayPal address with your submission. The payment system is relatively straightforward, and I like that it uses PayPal. For more sites that pay this way, see the top sites that pay via PayPal.
How to submit an article
You can’t sign up as a member. Email your article to [email protected], with your links, bio, headshot and PayPal address.
You keep doing this for every article unless you are chosen for the writing team. It does not matter where you live, as long as the article is high quality.
There is no member dashboard and no app, and writing a 1,500-word article on a phone is next to impossible. You need a computer.
