Testerup Review: Worth Using? (Full Details + Rating)

Testerup Rating

Testerup is not worth your time. The fact that it has a very high payout threshold is a huge issue. It also doesn’t help that most of their so-called tests will require money or a lot of time to complete - and they are not even real tests.

I tested Testerup, formerly Testery, which says it pays you to test games and apps. In reality, you complete paid offers, many of them need time or money, and you can only cash out at $70. Below is what I found, and which sites I recommend instead.

Personally Tested Re-tested Oct 2026

Not transparent, and a $70 threshold: not worth your time

The “tests” are paid game offers that often ask for time or money. PayPal only, from $70.

Good for you ifYou already play mobile games a lot and accept that you may never reach the $70 payout.
Skip it ifYou want real user testing, you do not want to spend money on in-app purchases, or you want to cash out quickly.

The short answer

Testerup is not worth your time, in my opinion. It says you earn by testing games and apps, but you are not testing anything: you complete paid offers, like on a Get-Paid-To site. The easy tasks pay around $0.10 to $1, and the tasks that pay well take a lot of time or ask you to spend money.

On top of that, you can only withdraw at $70, which is a very high threshold. I never reached it. Some readers report payouts that did not arrive, games that stopped tracking and revoked rewards. Others were paid.

What I like
  • Offers payment via PayPal
  • Available more or less worldwide
  • Easy-to-use app without pop-up ads
  • You can stop an offer anytime and keep what you earned
What I don’t like
  • Very high payout threshold: $70
  • Most “tests” require a long time or money to complete
  • Not transparent: you are not testing anything, you complete paid offers
  • The app is only available in certain countries
  • Limited earning opportunities

My experience with Testerup

Is Testerup legit and safe?

Some readers have been paid by Testerup, so it is not a plain scam. But it is not transparent, and I do not recommend it. Here is what you should know.

  • The “tests” are paid offers

You are not testing anything. You complete paid offers, mostly mobile games, with a checklist of tasks. Testerup calls them tests to make them sound better, which is not transparent.

  • Big rewards usually cost money

An offer can show a high reward, like $146 for one game. But most of these games need in-app purchases, and the tasks that pay a significant amount take a lot of time or ask you to spend money. Most premium offers also cost money.

  • A very high payout threshold

You can only withdraw at $70. With easy tasks at $0.10 to $1, it takes several months. Many people lose interest before they ever get paid. In my experience, sites with a very high threshold often do not intend to pay. I never reached it, so I cannot say if that is the case here.

  • Reader reports of tracking and payout problems

Readers reported games that stopped tracking their progress, payouts marked “undefined” that did not arrive, error messages at cashout and revoked rewards, and support that did not reply. These reports are from 2022 and 2023, and other readers were paid.

My takeIn my opinion, Testery or Testerup is not really worth your time. The fact that it has a very high payout threshold is really a huge red flag for me. And very importantly, I do not like that they are not transparent about the earning method. They claim you will earn by testing games, but in reality, you are just completing paid offers, and it has nothing to do with user testing.

Testerup’s “tests” often cost time or money. These sites in your country are free to use and pay out sooner.

How you earn on Testerup

There are 2 ways to earn. The “test” offers are the main one. Tap one to read more.

“Test” offers$0.10 to $1 for easy tasks
Testerup test offers

Log in on a browser or in the app, and you see all available offers. Each one says if it is a mobile app or a website, and how much you can earn. Mobile apps need your phone.

Every offer has a checklist of tasks, and you earn a set amount for each task. The easy tasks only pay around $0.10 to $0.50. The tasks that pay a significant amount take a lot of time or ask you to spend money, because most of these games need in-app purchases.

You can stop an offer anytime and keep what you earned for the tasks you completed. Complete five premium offers and you become a premium tester, but most premium offers cost money.

Referral program10% commission
Testerup referral program

Share your invite link. When someone joins through it, you earn 10% of what they earn from the offers. I personally would not invite people to join this platform.

How much can you make?

You can potentially earn a significant amount from an offer, but it usually costs you a lot of time or some cash. The tasks without that pay around $0.10 to $1 at most, so it takes several months to reach the $70 threshold.

That is not time well spent, in my opinion. On user testing sites and apps with a low threshold, you would have withdrawn your earnings several times in the same time. That is why I consider the earning potential very low.

User testing sites do not normally have such a high payout threshold. For sites with a low threshold, see the fastest paying sites.

What 57 readers told me

This review has 57 comments since 2022: 31 from readers and 26 replies from me. These are the things readers wrote about most.

Games that stopped tracking6 comments

Readers finished game levels that Testerup did not credit, sent proof to support and got no reply. One reader’s rewards were revoked after Testerup said its security system detected irregularities.

Payouts that did not arrive6 comments

Readers reached the threshold and saw an “undefined” payout, an error message, or no money in PayPal. These reports are from 2022 and 2023.

Not transparent, and it costs money4 comments

Readers felt misled that the “tests” are paid offers that often need money, and found $70 hard to reach.

Who can join3 comments

Readers asked about the US, South Africa and Arabic countries. Testerup is open more or less worldwide, but the app is not in every country.

Readers who were paid2 comments

Two readers received their PayPal payout. One of them wrote that Testerup asked for personal details and a facial scan before it paid.

“Well after 2 days of waiting I did in fact receive my PayPal deposit from them so anybody interested, they DO actually payout.”

Reader, December 2022
Mikael: Thanks for sharing. As I explain in the review above, you can get paid BUT the big issue, in my opinion, … is that the app is not transparent about what it offers and pretends to offer something else than what it really offers.

“Testerup quit tracking my progress and when I reached out they responded to me 4 months later stating that I did not comply with their terms of service, and my rewards were revoked.”

Reader, September 2023
Mikael: That is definitely a strange approach from their support, in my opinion. Thanks for sharing your experiences.

“I feel that their lack of complete transparency on how this works is just plain shady! Some people have the time and money to do paid offers and would not mind but only if made CLEARLY aware of this upfront.”

Reader, November 2022
Mikael: Thanks for sharing your opinion. I agree that they should just be transparent.

  1. I joined Testerup and hit $99 worth of payout in my first month while only investing $3.99 of my money in in-app purchases. I estimate I played roughly 30 min a day on average or maybe 15 hours to earn the $99 payout – so I am earning roughly $6/hr playing online games, many of which I might have played for free anyway.

There is a big disparity in the profitability of the offers that show up on Testerup. For example, I played enough to receive $1 on one offer, $25 on a second offer, and $73 on a third offer to reach that total of $99 in a month. The trick is to choose an offer that looks interesting and then play that game for 30 minutes. At the end of the 30 min, you can easily gauge how much time you will need to invest to achieve the payout levels indicated in the offer. If the offer seems like a good investment of your time then continue playing that game. If not, dump it and spend another 30 min trialing a different game and the related offer. This approach helps you to focus the bulk of your play time making money on offers that pay well versus the offers that pay peanuts.

In most cases, Testerup offers will reimburse you something like 80-100% of your first in-app purchase. Only invest your money on in-app purchases for those offers that are paying well for your time. This investment, most of which will be repaid by Testerup, then allows you to reach your goal payout for a given offer in a much shorter period of time. You can then circle back and identify the next well paying offer sooner and as a result make more money in less time. Having said that – I don’t think I would be comfortable investing more than perhaps $5 in in-app buys for any single offer – but even that small amount is enough to shave a few days of time (or a couple hours of game play) needed to complete the payout level you want.

I have to say the part that I don’t like about Testerup is the substantial amount of information the site collects on its users. You have to agree to have tracking turned on for the games you are playing. You have to supply your name, address, and email. Worst of all, you have to provide your social security number, your PayPal payment information, and submit to a biometric facial scan to receive payment. I can only imagine the damage that could be done to a credit score if all that information found its way into the wrong hands as a result of a cybersecurity breach. The high scores on TrustPilot and other reviews recognizing Testerup as being legitimate help relieve those fears somewhat, but it would be nice if Testerup could somehow leverage the biometric scan already built into say my Apple wallet to authenticate my identity and paid me through Apple Pay versus using a third party to collect all this data on users.

Overall, I recommend trying Testerup. You won’t make a ton of money – maybe $5 to $6 an hour if you select your offers strategically and make some small in-app investments that are largely reimbursed. But if you play games anyway and don’t mind jumping through a few hoops and learning the tricks of selecting good offers, it’s a fine option to make some additional spending money.

  2. Testerup quit tracking my progress and when I reached out they responded to me 4 months later stating that I did not comply with their terms of service, and my rewards were revoked. I have requested to know what I did three times and each time they say it can not be pinpointed what I did, but their security system detected irregularities on my account and that is what revoked my rewards, but I am the one that reached out to them to let them know there was an issue. It was after I reached out that they revoked the rewards.

I do not recommend testerup. They will revoke your rewards and not give a clear reason why. They blame it on their security system.

  3. Testerup doesn’t respond to your messages about the offers if you finish the game and it doesn’t level you up. They just cheat you out of your money. I reached level 13 on lords of mobile and level 250 on royal match and niether game leveled me up. I submitted everything I needed to submit to offers 3 times and got no response or nor did they level the games up for me to get my money. It is very sad that they rip you off the way they do. This is like the 5th game they cheated me out of the payment on.

  6. won’t actually pay out to you even after going over the threshold of $70. Keeps giving me an error message saying my data is not complete. This is scam and a waste of a lot of time. Don’t buy into it. You won’t get reimbursed for your money back from what you put into the games.

  7. Totally agree! Testerup is only timewaste and you cannot get the money you earned till you have 70 euros credit which is not easy at all to make!!

Stay away from this site and app

  8. It is a set up when you earn money it’s always something went wrong or there is no payment setup I’m trying to find a a way to sue these people because they are inadvertently stealing from people by telling you will get paid! So if you spend 20 bucks to help teach your goal they will keep your money and never pay you what you earned. So all the games affiliated with tester up will be included because they are part of the money stealing system

  9. Probably a question I should ask them and will ask them, but in case anyone knows…I’m at about half the payout threshold. There is a progression for raid that says pay for the 49.99$ package and get that money paid back as part of the “test”, but it is 6th on the list and I’m only on the 4th progression. Do the progressions need to be done in an order to get credit or can I just skip to the 6th to fill the payout threshold and cash out?

    • I got to level 26 and it says I am still downloading. I cashed out at $82.70 and I sent in for the payment and it came undefined. I contacted them and they said they apologize but I have a check my email and then reach the level again to cash out. I contact again and no reply. This game does not pay and some of them don’t track it correctly. Play store and Google will be notified. I should have a $82.70 payout and a $70.00 payout. Those are from Dice dreams and coin master. Good luck .

  13. Well I made it to the redeem threshold just barely by the skin of my teeth but I made it and then I requested my payout and then I waited two and a half days contacting them once in between finally just this morning I get an email stating hey we sent you your money and so I go and look on my PayPal and sure enough it’s not there so I did a little bit more looking into it and on the actual test re app you can look at your history for payout oddly enough it says [undefined] via PayPal ?? Which left a real sinking feeling in my stomach however I’m holding out a little bit of Hope just a little bit I took screenshots of my PayPal transaction history and the page where I saw that statement of undefined which is odd being that they sent me an email to the email that they would have to send the payment to something’s not quite adding up we will see how quickly an actual person will get back to me

  14. Testerup does not have a good customer service system at all !!! I have been playing coin master and I have made it to village 70 and the testerup app is still saying that I have not passed village 3. I have been sending messages every day about this issue since Oct 30 2022, it is now Nov 11th and I haven’t gotten a response nor has the issue been fixed. I can’t cancle the game early because it will only give me $1 and if I let it go past 30 days I won’t get paid at all. So I just waisted my time playing the game for nothing. I am very angry because I also played the my cafe game and it done the same thing and they never responded back or fixed that issue either and that game is long past the experation date for playing it. So if u are choosing to use this app, beware that they will cheat you out of the money you are supposed to be earning. I would not recommend it to anyone. They only pay you if the game doesn’t glitch.

    • I think if this is the case we need to file a complaint ‘s at the Attorney General or BBB, or the Federal Trade Commission. We can not continue to let all these Apps that claim to pay you money get away with ripping us off and need to put a stop to their decietful lies. I try to make money on these site’s ! I’m not here to spend my money. Tester Up and other Apps need to be held accountable.
