Surveyvillage Review – Worth Joining? (All You NEED to Know)

Surveyvillage Rating

Surveyvillage is not a bad survey site. It pays well, which is good. The only downside is, you can’t really rely on it as a good source of extra income since the opportunities to earn aren’t that many.

I signed up for Surveyvillage, set up my profile and looked at the rewards to see if it is worth your time. It is legit and pays well, especially for in-person research, but there are few opportunities and you only get gift cards. Below is what I found, and which sites I recommend instead.

Partially Tested Re-tested Oct 2026

Legit and pays well, but few opportunities and no cash

In-person research pays around $30 to $160. Rewards are Flexi gift cards from $20. Only Australia and New Zealand.

Good for you ifYou live in Australia or New Zealand and want a secondary site, including in-person research.
Skip it ifYou want to earn regularly, you want cash or PayPal, or you live outside Australia and New Zealand.

The short answer

Surveyvillage is a legit survey site that rewards you for its research activities. It is not a bad site, and it pays well, especially for in-person activities.

But there are not many opportunities to earn, so you cannot rely on it as a good source of extra income. And it does not offer cash rewards: you get a Flexi gift card. It can be a good secondary site, if you live in Australia or New Zealand.

What I like
  • Pays a decent amount for some activities
  • Many kinds of research, not only surveys
  • The gift card works in many online stores, and you can split it
  • Mobile-friendly website
What I don’t like
  • Limited earning opportunities
  • No cash rewards
  • Important information is missing, like how you get paid for in-person research
  • The referral program does not seem to be available
  • Only Australia and New Zealand

Is Surveyvillage legit and safe?

Yes, Surveyvillage is a legit survey site that rewards you for its research activities. But it has some limits you need to know before you join.

  • There are few opportunities

You cannot control how many invites you get. There is no guarantee you will be invited to the in-person activities. Paid surveys are the only sure thing.

  • No cash rewards

The only reward is a Flexi gift card from Giftpay, from $20. It works in a lot of online stores, but there is no PayPal or other cash option.

  • Missing information

The website does not explain how you get paid for in-person research. It also mentions a referral program in the FAQ, but there is no referral section on the dashboard.

  • The “Ask a Question” form is public

Questions you post there can be seen by others. For questions about your account with private information, email [email protected] instead.

My takeIn my opinion, Surveyvillage is not a bad survey site. It pays well, which is good. The only downside is that you cannot rely on it as a good source of extra income, since there are not many opportunities to earn. If you are eligible and your plate is not full, it can serve as a good secondary site. Just do not expect to earn from it regularly.

Surveyvillage has few opportunities and no cash rewards. The top sites in your country let you earn regularly.

How you earn on Surveyvillage

There are 7 kinds of research activities. You choose which ones you are invited to in your profile, and every invite comes by email. Tap one to read more.

Paid surveysThe most common
Setting up your profile on Surveyvillage

Surveys are the most common activity, and the only one you are sure to be invited to. You first answer qualifying questions. If you qualify, you answer the survey. If not, you move on to the next one, if there is one.

In your profile settings, choose every research activity you are confident you can do. That increases your chances of getting invites.

Telephone researchBy phone

An interviewer calls you at a time and on a number that suits you. These interviews usually take between 2 and 40 minutes.

Group discussionsIn person

You first answer a short online survey to check if you are eligible. If you qualify, you go to a venue in your local area, with usually around 7 to 8 other people and a moderator.

In-depth personal interviewsHighest paying

After a short eligibility survey, an interviewer meets you at your home or another meeting point. It is like an informal chat of 20 minutes to 1.5 hours. This is the highest-paying activity on Surveyvillage.

Product testingAt home or on-site

After a short eligibility survey, you test a product at home, where it is sent to you, or at a venue. Afterwards, you give your feedback, usually in a survey.

Online forum postingOnline

After a short eligibility survey, you join an online forum for the period of the project. Questions are posted there, and you take part in the discussions.

Mystery shoppingIn a store

You go to a physical store and complete certain missions, like taking photos of products or buying products.

How much can you make?

What you earn mostly depends on how often you get invited, and you cannot control that. Surveyvillage does pay a decent amount, especially for in-person activities: around $30 to $160, depending on the activity.

Overall, the earning potential is not that good, even though it pays rather well. There simply are not a lot of opportunities, so you cannot expect to earn a decent amount regularly.

Payout method and minimum

MethodMinimumNotes
Flexi gift card (Giftpay)$20Use it in a lot of online stores, like Coles and Target, and split the amount between them

Rewards for online activities go to your account balance, and you log in to redeem them. For example, you can use $10 of a $20 Flexi gift card at Coles and the other $10 at Target.

Surveyvillage does not explain how in-person activities are paid. In my experience with similar options on other sites, they are usually paid by check or gift card once you complete the activity.

There are no cash rewards. If you want to earn cash, see the top sites that pay via PayPal.

Who can join Surveyvillage?

Surveyvillage is only for people in Australia and New Zealand, and you must be at least 16.

Fill out the registration form, including your address and mobile number. Surveyvillage uses your number to verify you for activities done over the phone. Then click the activation link in the email and set your login details.

Log in and set up your profile first. Choose the activities you know you can do, so you get invites for them.
