Springboard America has shut down
Springboard America no longer exists. It has rebranded and changed its website, name and design, and the new panel is called Unlock Surveys. You cannot join or earn on Springboard America now. If you used to be a member, you need to use the new site instead: read all about it in my Unlock Surveys review. I keep my Springboard America review below as a record.
Springboard America was a US survey site from the market research company Maru. It has shut down and is now called Unlock Surveys. I tested it myself before that. Below is what I found, and which sites I would pick instead.

When it was running, it was legit and rewarded you for its surveys. But you needed $50 before you could cash out, survey invitations were rare, and it no longer offered PayPal.

Springboard America has shut down. The top survey sites in your country are still open, and most of them let you cash out long before $50.

Was Springboard America legit and safe?
Springboard America has shut down, so you can no longer join or earn on it. When it was running, it was legit, because it rewarded you for its surveys. These were the catches.
- It has shut down
Springboard America no longer exists. It rebranded as Unlock Surveys, with a new website, name and design.
- A $50 cashout
You needed 5,000 points, worth $50, before you could redeem anything. That is higher than on most good survey sites, and it could take a couple of months or more to reach.
- Few survey invitations
A lot of members reported few survey invitations. For a site that relied mostly on surveys, that was a real problem.
- Points lost when inactive
If you had no activity for 5 months in a row, your account could be deactivated, and you lost your points.
- Not always open
It was only for US residents, and it did not always accept new members.
My takeSpringboard America has shut down, so it is no longer an option. When it was running, the high cashout and the few invitations made it hard to recommend. Its new name is Unlock Surveys, and the sites I would pick instead are below.
How you earned on Springboard America
There were three ways to earn. Tap each one to read more.
Paid surveysPoints per survey
Surveys were the main way to earn. When you logged in, you saw all the surveys you could take, and you also got an email when a new survey was available.
A lot of members reported few survey invitations, so you could not pile up points as quickly as you would hope. But the surveys you did get were relatively short, and some paid decently for your time.
Prize drawsMonthly and yearly
There were three prize draws, explained in the support center. The recruit draw had a $1,000 prize once a year, and you were entered once, when you joined.
The participation draw had one winner of $500 and five winners of $50 every month, with an entry for every survey you completed. The profiling draw had 10 winners of $100 every month, with an entry when you completed a profile survey.
In my opinion, the prizes were a bit underwhelming for something that depends on luck, and other sites had higher prizes. Nice if you won, but not money you could count on.
Referral campaignsOnce in a while
Springboard America only ran Refer A Friend campaigns once in a while, for random groups of members. If you were selected, you got a link to share, and you earned a bonus when someone joined.
It used to be available all the time, but that changed, so it was not a way to earn you could count on. Sites like PrizeRebel have a referral program that is always available.

How much could you make?
The main problem was the $50 cashout. With few survey invitations, it could take a couple of months, or even more, before you could redeem anything.
So you had to answer a lot of surveys over several months before you saw any reward. There were better sites that paid more and faster.
How Springboard America paid
Every survey you completed earned you points, credited to your account within 30 days. From 5,000 points, worth $50, you could request a reward.
| Method | Minimum | Notes |
|---|---|---|
| Gift cards | 5,000 points ($50) | For example iTunes, Visa and Google Play |
| Donation to charity | 5,000 points ($50) | Instead of a gift card |
| PayPal | Removed | Springboard America stopped offering PayPal |
You could also request other gift cards, which I assume meant contacting them for a specific card. Under its new name, Unlock Surveys, the cashout is 2,500 points ($25), and PayPal is back, as I explain in my Unlock Surveys review.
