Is SaySo Legit or a Scam? (Full Review + Rating)

SaySo Rating

SaySo is not a bad site to earn rewards. However, you can’t earn regularly from it because of the limited earning opportunities, so it can only serve as a secondary site.

I tested SaySo to see if it is worth your time. It is legit and pays well per activity, but there are not many opportunities, and it only pays in gift cards. Below is what I found, and which sites I recommend instead.

Partially Tested Last tested

Legit, but too few opportunities and no cash

Decent rewards per activity and a low $5 threshold, but you cannot earn regularly, and it only pays in gift cards. Only for Australia, New Zealand and the UK.

Good for you ifYou live in Australia, New Zealand or the UK and want a secondary site, and gift cards are fine for you.
Skip it ifYou want a main site to earn from regularly, you want cash, or you live somewhere else.

The short answer

SaySo is legit. It is a market research company, and you can really earn rewards from the research activities it offers.

It pays quite a decent amount per activity. But the earning opportunities are limited, so you cannot earn regularly from it, and it does not offer cash rewards, only gift cards. It can serve as a secondary site, in my opinion, not as your main one.

What I like
  • Offers relatively high rewards
  • The site is user-friendly
  • A low threshold of 500 points ($5)
  • The member dashboard works well on a phone
What I don’t like
  • Limited earning opportunities
  • Does not offer cash rewards
  • Some profile surveys pay nothing
  • An unclear referral program
  • Only available in Australia, New Zealand and the UK

Is SaySo legit and safe?

Yes, SaySo is legit, because you can really earn rewards from the activities it offers. But being legit does not automatically make it worth your time. Here is what you should know.

  • There are few opportunities

Paid surveys are the most common activity, but there are still not a lot of them. You have no control over how many research activities you are invited to, so you cannot earn regularly.

  • No cash rewards

You can only redeem Gift Pay e-gift cards. If you want cash, this is not the site for you.

  • Some surveys pay nothing

Some surveys are profile surveys without a reward. SaySo uses them to see which opportunities you qualify for, so you cannot really skip them.

  • An unclear referral program

Your referral reward is the value on the referral page when your friend finishes registering, not when you shared your link, and that value can change. It is also not clear what your referral must do first.

My takeIn my opinion, SaySo is not a bad site to earn rewards. But you cannot earn regularly from it because of the limited earning opportunities, so it can only serve as a secondary site. And keep in mind that it does not offer cash rewards.

How you earn on SaySo

There are two ways to earn on SaySo: research activities and referrals. Tap one to read more.

Research activitiesPoints per activity
SaySo research activities

Paid surveys are the most common activity, based on what I observed. They take from 1 to 15 minutes. You answer a few qualifying questions first. If you qualify, you answer the survey. If not, you move on to the next one, if there is one.

Focus groups are not very common, but they are the best-paying activity, because you are paid per hour. They are online or in person at one of SaySo’s offices, and the website says they typically run for 30 to 120 minutes.

Product and sensory testing asks you to test products or prototypes and give feedback in an online survey. Research forums are discussions with other members and a moderator about a topic. Reviews can ask you to buy a product in a store and give feedback on the purchase, or to review products you have tried.

Each activity gives points, depending on its length and complexity. The more complex activities pay more, but also take more time.

Referral programValue on the referral page

You can invite people with your referral link. You earn points based on the value on the referral page at the time your friend completes the registration.

That value can change, and it is not clear if your referral must complete a survey or activity first. That is why the referral program is not that enticing, in my opinion.

How much can you make?

It mostly depends on how many activities you are invited to, and you do not control that. The best thing you can do is answer every survey you get, also the profile surveys without a reward.

Per activity, the pay is quite decent. Paid surveys pay anywhere from $1 to $100, depending on their length and complexity. Focus groups pay around $100 to $200 per hour.

But the overall earning potential is not that great, because the opportunities are limited. You can earn a decent amount per activity, but not regularly. So temper your expectations.

How SaySo pays

Every activity gives you points, which you redeem for gift cards.

MethodMinimumNotes
Gift Pay e-gift card500 points ($5)A versatile gift card you can use at partner stores

It is a low threshold, so you should not have a hard time reaching it. The only downside is that there are no cash rewards. If you prefer cash, see the top sites that pay via PayPal.

Who can join, and on which devices?

SaySo is only available to people who live in Australia, New Zealand and the UK, and you must be at least 18.

To register, you fill out the form and give your mobile number. SaySo sends you an email with a confirmation link, and then a confirmation code by SMS. After that, you can log in and start earning.

There is no app, but the member dashboard is made for mobile use. That helps, because many research activities close once they have enough participants. The overall user experience is generally pleasant.

For questions, there is a FAQ section that covers the basics, a contact form, and the email address [email protected]. The support is decent, in my opinion.
