I tested the Samsung Global Goals app and donated my rewards through it. It is legit and pays well per ad, but you can only donate what you earn to charity. Below is what I found, and which apps and sites I recommend if you want to earn for yourself.
Legit and good for charity, but you cannot earn for yourself
You watch video ads, and your rewards go to charity, matched by Samsung. No cash or gift cards.

The short answer
Samsung Global Goals is legit. It is an app made by Samsung that rewards you for watching video ads, and my video shows my donation through it. It pays around $0.05 per ad, which is a lot more than most apps that pay you to view ads.
But you cannot keep what you earn. The only thing you can do with your rewards is donate them to charity, and Samsung matches what you donate. If you want to earn cash or gift cards for yourself, this app is not for you.
- Offers a simple way to earn rewards
- The app is user-friendly
- Offers high rewards compared to other apps that offer the same kind of earning opportunity
- Samsung matches what you donate
- You won’t be able to redeem cash or even gift cards with the rewards you’ve earned
- Android only
- The site and app do not say which countries it is available in
My experience with Samsung Global Goals

Is Samsung Global Goals legit and worth it?
Yes, Samsung Global Goals is legit. It has a big and famous company behind it. But whether it is worth it depends on what you want. Here is what you should know before you install it.
- You cannot earn for yourself
The only thing you can do with your rewards is donate them to charity. There is no cash or gift card option.
- Watch the full ad
Most ads last about 30 seconds. If you close the app before the timer runs out, you do not earn the reward. Wait until the close button appears in the top right corner.
- Lock-screen ads are optional
You can turn on ads on your lock screen inside the app. Compared to other apps that show ads on the lock screen, I did not find it annoying. If you do not want them, leave the feature off.
- Android only
The app is only on the Android app store. You cannot use it on iOS.
- Questions about donations go to Samsung
Samsung matches what you donate, and you can track your donations in the app. For other questions about how the money is handled, contact their support.
My takeIf your goal is to donate to charity, then I would say you should go for this app. It supports some of the best causes in the world, in my opinion. But if you are just looking to earn extra cash or even gift cards, then this app is not for you.
Samsung Global Goals only lets you donate. These apps and sites pay you in cash.

There is one way to earn: watching video ads. You can watch them in two places. Tap one to read more.
Video ads in the appAround $0.05 per ad
Log in to the app and go to the earn section. It immediately shows you the video ad to watch. The ad usually lasts about 30 seconds, and you have to finish it to earn the reward.
I have tested a lot of apps with a similar way of earning, and by far, this is one of the best, in my opinion.
Video ads on your lock screenSame ads, no app needed
Enable this feature in the app. Then you do not have to open the app: go to your lock screen and press an ad to watch it. Once the timer finishes, you get the reward. It keeps showing ads as long as there are ads available.
Enhanced AdsHigher rewards
Turn on Enhanced Ads to get a higher reward per ad. The ads you see are then related to your interests, so you might not get bored watching them. I suggest you do this to earn more.
How much can you make?
Based on my testing, each video ad pays around $0.05. That is significantly more than most other Paid-To-Click (PTC) sites and apps, where you normally earn a fraction of a cent per ad.
But the earning potential is still quite low. You have to watch hundreds of ads to earn a significant amount. And remember: all of it goes to charity, not to you. See the best PTC sites if you want to earn from ads yourself.
What you can do with your rewards
| Option | Notes |
|---|---|
| Donate to a charity or goal Samsung supports | Samsung matches the amount you donate. You can track all your donations in the app. |
| Cash or gift cards | Not available |
You earn points for every ad you watch. The name of the rewards depends on where you live, and in some countries the app just shows your local currency.
The app supports the Sustainable Development Goals, the UN’s plan to eliminate hunger, fight inequality and clean up the planet. If you want to earn cash for yourself, see the top sites that pay via PayPal.
What 22 readers told me
This review has 22 comments since 2022: 11 from readers and 11 replies from me. These are the four things readers ask about most.
Readers ask whether all of their donation reaches the cause, or whether Samsung takes a cut. Samsung matches what you donate. For details on how the money is handled, ask their support.
Readers asked about payments on their card. The app is free to use and does not charge a fee. Contact Samsung’s support about any charge you do not recognize.
It did not really affect the battery of my phone, but it can vary from phone to phone. Test it a bit, and delete it if it drains your battery.
One reader found the ads intrusive and deleted the app. Another says what you earn varies a lot, and that scrolling through the menus and articles sometimes earns more than videos.
“If you make a paid donation through this app, does ALL of you $ go toward your cause selected, or does Samsung get a cut?”
Mikael: Samsung actually donates the same amount of your earnings, as I explain in the review above.
“How can I cancel the monthly payment for this app”
Mikael: The app is free to use and does not charge a fee.
“What about the battery? I don’t want to end up with a phone always being 20% power.”

Who tested Samsung Global Goals for this review
If you have any comments, questions, or experiences with Samsung Global Goals, I would love to hear from you in a comment below.
I read through the info on globalgoals and thought, sounds like a good project to beifit world hunger in my mind.
But the ads were a flood, intrusive, they popped up in the middle of night, or while I was doing other things on my phone. It would open up pages of ads in the background up to 14 . After 3 days in frustration I just deleted the app. The flood gate of ads is still there. The little Samsung spinning wheel still shows up. Then a ad. And they are totally unrelated to anything I’ve googled. But suspiciously one for Ad block.
Thanks for sharing your experiences.
If you make a paid donation through this app, does ALL of you $ go toward your cause selected, or does Samsung get a cut? If so, then what % does Samsung get?
In other words, is my contribution through the app as valuable as my paying directly to a cause on their own website?
Thank you!
Samsung actually donates the same amount of your earnings, as I explain in the review above.
How can I cancel the monthly payment for this app
The app is free to use and does not charge a fee.
Why would you want to pay out the money for yourself?? This is a charity app and of course only to be used for charity purposes.
If you want to earn money for yourself, buy bitcoins or go to the next casino but don’t complain about that.
Charity is not gambling or private profit. Its meant to make the world a better place, at least a bit.
Unfortunately mankind is extremely stupid and will destroy earth in the next 100 years.
I am not complaining about it at all. I am saying that this can be a great app if you want to donate to charity and I think that is great when people do. But I am also just saying that if people want to earn for themselves instead if to charity, then they can use other apps.
So I do not understand why you see this as complaining as I just explain exactly what to expect and what it offers and then people can decide for themselves whether it is for them or not.
On January 18/19..On my BMO Master card why was I charged 15.00….???
You need to contact their support about this.
so how do i know they “actually” donated the money to the charity and not just claimed they did and deducted my points? and how big a cut do they take for “admin” purposes?
I do not know that. You need to ask their support about this.
Does accessing this app drain the battery of an s21+5g?
I can’t say if it will for a specific model as I have not tested with all models. I can just say that it did not really affect the battery of my phone.
I’ve been using this app for some months now, and the amount you earn varies INSANELY. And most often, viewing the videoes is not the most effective solution, but rather to scroll through the different menus/articles (at also varies a lot which of these will earn you the most). I’ve decided to watch ads for 20 DKK a day (2,71$) (including the Samsung donation match) and that takes 10-15 minutes in average. However, it has been up to 20-25 minutes, but can go as low as, and you probably won’t believe me, but this happened today, LESS THAN ONE MINUTE. Today I thought, why not go for a lot more then, and it took me around 15 minutes to earn 200 DKK (27,11$)
All in all, in the three months I’ve been using it, I’ve earned 2019 DKK (273.65$).
That is really great. Thanks for sharing.
What about the battery? I don’t want to end up with a phone always being 20% power.
I have not experienced any issues with it, but it can vary a lot from phone to phone. The best way to find out exactly is to just test it a bit and if it drains the battery, then just delete it again.
Thanks for the reply.
You are welcome.
This was very helpful. I wanted to be careful before using the Samsung Global Goals app to ensure that it’s not some kind of a scam. But after reading your review of the app, I am feeling confident.
Thank you very much.
Glad it helped.
