OpinionSite’s consumer panel has closed
OpinionSite’s Consumer Panel is no longer available. Its website only shows the Healthcare Panel now, where only healthcare professionals can sign up and earn rewards by answering surveys. Unless you are a healthcare professional, you cannot join or earn on OpinionSite now.
The review below is of the consumer panel I tested, so I keep it as a record. The sites I would pick instead are further down.
OpinionSite paid you in points for answering surveys on its consumer panel. That panel has now closed. I tested it before that. Below is what I found, and which sites I would pick instead.
OpinionSite’s consumer panel has closed
The consumer panel has closed, so you can no longer earn on it unless you are a healthcare professional. When it was running, it was legit, but it paid only in gift cards or by check, and slowly.

The short answer
OpinionSite’s consumer panel has closed. The website only shows the Healthcare Panel now, which is for healthcare professionals only. Everyone else can no longer join or earn there.
When the consumer panel was running, it was legit and really paid you for its surveys. But invites did not come often, and you could only get gift cards or a check by mail, with no PayPal, and a reward could take 2 to 8 weeks.
- You could earn real money
- A relatively low payment threshold of $10
- A good support system with an organized contact form
- Rewards were credited to your account right away
- The consumer panel has closed
- No PayPal: gift cards or a check by mail only
- Relatively low earning potential, with few survey invites
- Rewards could take 2 to 8 weeks to arrive
- The website’s information was not always accurate

Was OpinionSite legit and safe?
OpinionSite’s consumer panel has closed, so you can no longer join or earn on it. When it was running, it was legit, because it really paid you to complete its surveys. These were the catches.
- The consumer panel has closed
The website only shows the Healthcare Panel now. Only healthcare professionals can sign up and earn there.
- No PayPal, and slow rewards
You could only choose gift cards or a check sent by mail. Depending on the reward, it took as little as 2 weeks or as many as 6 to 8 weeks.
- Few survey invites
Invites did not come very often, and many surveys looked for a very specific group of people, so you did not qualify for all of them.
- Unclear information
The FAQ said anyone could join, but the sign-up form only accepted US states. It also did not say what the minimum age was.
My takeOpinionSite’s consumer panel has closed, so it is no longer an option. When it was running, it could be a decent secondary site, but you could not expect to earn a lot from it or to get your rewards quickly. See the alternatives below.
How you earned on OpinionSite
There was one way to earn on the consumer panel: paid surveys. Tap it to read more.
Paid surveysPoints per survey
After registering, you logged in to the member dashboard and saw the available surveys. Each one showed how many points you would get and when the survey would expire, which made it easy to decide which ones to take first.
You first answered a few pre-qualifying questions. Many surveys looked for a very specific group of people, so you did not always qualify, even after answering several questions. The surveys also had questions that checked whether you were really reading.
When you completed a survey, the points were credited to your account right away.

How much could you make?
It depended on how many survey invites you got, how many surveys you completed, and how many points each one paid. The website did not say how often you would get invites, and members said they did not come very often. One or two invites a week is the average on many survey sites, so you could not expect to reach the threshold quickly.
You did get a head start: 1,400 points as soon as you finished registering. With a $10 threshold, it could be a decent secondary site, but not one to earn a lot from.
How OpinionSite paid
OpinionSite paid in points. Once you had 14,000 points, the same as $10, you could redeem them.
| Reward | Minimum | Notes |
|---|---|---|
| Tango gift card | 14,000 points ($10) | An e-gift card you can exchange for a gift card from stores like Amazon, Best Buy or iTunes |
| Other e-gift cards | 14,000 points ($10) | Electronic gift cards |
| Check | 14,000 points ($10) | Sent by postal mail to the address you gave when you registered |
Depending on the reward, it took as little as 2 weeks or as many as 6 to 8 weeks to arrive. A check took longest to reach you.

What 4 readers told me
This review has 7 comments since May 2020: 4 from readers and 3 replies from me. These are the two things readers raised.
One reader asked if you have to pay to join, and another says they paid a subscription and their account is stuck in review. Legit survey sites are free to join.
One reader thought a paid study would not pay after waiting for weeks, then came back to say it had paid. It was slow, but it paid.
“do you have to pay to join as a member,?”
Mikael: No. All legit survey sites are free to join.
“hey I was wrong! They just paid 300. Opionsite is real. just slow”
Mikael: That is great to hear. Thanks for the update. That is definitely a great reward to get.

Who tested OpinionSite for this review
If you have any comments, questions, or experiences with OpinionSite, I would love to hear from you in a comment below.
do you have to pay to join as a member,?
No. All legit survey sites are free to join.
it’s fake. I did an 80 minute cancer drug study, $300, seemed very legit. Now 10 weeks later they are ghosting me and not paying. I’ve sent 9-10 messages. it also led to MORE SURVEY sites writing to me and saying “we have your $300, just join THIS..” arhgh
sorry to hear that. But thanks for sharing your experiences about it.
