I tested Opinion Champ and made a video with an inside look at how it works. It is a real survey panel with PayPal and gift cards, but the website gives little information. Below is what I found, what readers report, and which sites I would pick first.
A real survey panel for the US and Canada, but little information and low rewards
PayPal from 12,500 points ($12.50) and gift cards from 1,600 points. Only for the US and Canada. Several readers report payouts that did not arrive.

The short answer
Opinion Champ is a real survey panel that pays you to complete surveys and other activities. It is easy to use, and it offers PayPal and gift cards.
Several readers report payouts that did not arrive and support that did not answer, while some readers were paid. The website also lacks relevant information, and the rewards for your time are fairly low. I would pick the sites below before Opinion Champ.
- Convenient payment methods: PayPal and gift cards
- Low minimum for gift cards
- Mobile-friendly site and surveys
- Fairly straightforward registration
- Music surveys that are a bit different
- Several readers report payouts that did not arrive
- The site lacks relevant information
- The way they provide support needs more work
- Fairly low rewards for your time
- Only for the US and Canada
My experience with Opinion Champ
I signed up, completed my profile, looked at the surveys, the payment options and the support, and made a video with an inside look. This is what I looked at, and what I did not test.
- First tested

- Checked: surveys, payouts, support, reader reports
- Survey length
- Around 10 to 20 minutesMost of the surveys

- Signing up and the nine profile sections
- The member dashboard and the surveys
- The payment options
- The website on a mobile browser

- A payout. My review does not show a payment from Opinion Champ, so I cannot confirm the missing payouts readers report, or rule them out.
- Product reviews and focus groups. There is little information on them.

Is Opinion Champ legit and safe?
Opinion Champ is a real survey panel that pays for surveys, and some readers were paid. Several readers also report payouts that did not arrive. Here is what you should know before you join.
- Reader reports of missing payouts
Between 2020 and 2023, several readers wrote that a PayPal cashout or a survey reward did not arrive, sometimes months after the survey. The most recent reports, from 2021 and 2023, are about payouts that did not arrive. I have not been able to check this myself.
- Payouts can take a while
Some readers waited about a week for their PayPal cashout. One reader got the first reward in about 3 days, and then waited more than a week for the second.
- Support often does not answer
Several readers wrote that support did not reply to their emails. You reach support through a contact form, in the member dashboard or at the bottom of the website.
- Little information on the website
The website does not clearly say who can join, what a point is worth or how the product reviews and focus groups work. It has improved since I first tested it, but it is still a big flaw, in my opinion.
- Only join from the US or Canada
If you do not live in one of the countries Opinion Champ is officially available in, it sees it as fraud, and you will not get paid.
My takeOpinion Champ is a pretty easy survey panel to use, but it has some flaws. The lack of relevant information makes it a lot less user-friendly, and several readers have reported payouts that did not arrive. If you live in the US or Canada, I would pick the sites below first. They are more transparent about what they offer.
Want a survey site that is more open about what you earn? The top sites in your country are better options.
See the best sites in your countryHow you earn on Opinion Champ
There are 2 ways to earn. Paid surveys are the main one. Tap one to read more.
Paid surveysShown per survey
Complete all nine sections of your profile first, so you get as many survey invites as possible. Then you see your surveys on the member dashboard, with the reward for each one.
You first answer qualifying questions. Opinion Champ tells you right away if you qualify. If not, you move on to the next survey. Most surveys have a limit on the number of respondents, so answer as soon as you get the invite.
Most surveys take around 10 to 20 minutes. Some are from partners, so you complete them on another site, but you still get the reward in your Opinion Champ account. There are also music surveys, where you rate short music clips played on radio stations near you.
The rewards used to be quite low for your time. Opinion Champ has made some big updates since I first tested it, and many surveys now give quite decent rewards.
Product reviews and focus groupsVaries
With product reviews, you try new products that are delivered to your door, and then follow the instructions to get the promised reward. Sometimes you can also join focus group interviews.
There is not much information on these options on the website. If you are invited, they can be a fun way to earn a bit extra.
How much can you make?
You should not expect to earn too much from Opinion Champ. It can make you a bit of extra cash, but it is not one of the fastest survey sites to earn on.
What you earn depends on how many invites you get, how many surveys you qualify for and the reward per survey. Complete all nine profile sections, and answer each survey as soon as you get the invite. Using your phone helps with that.
Payout methods and minimum
| Method | Minimum | Notes |
|---|---|---|
| PayPal | 12,500 points ($12.50) | You need a PayPal account |
| Gift cards (Tango) | 1,600 points | Access to a lot of different gift cards |
You earn points for every survey you complete. PayPal used to be the only payment method. You can now also choose gift cards through Tango.
The website does not say what the points are worth. I found out that 1,000 points are worth $1, but the exact conversion rate can vary from country to country. The reward per survey is fairly low, so you still need some patience to reach the PayPal threshold.
When you cash out, you get an email to complete it. Check your spam folder, and contact support if nothing arrives. Readers report waits from a few days to more than a week, and some say their payout never arrived.
Who can join Opinion Champ?
Opinion Champ is only available for people in the US and Canada. The country field in the registration form only has these two options. You must be at least 18, because that is the minimum age for a PayPal account.
In my experience, only one member per household can join, but I cannot confirm it, because the website gives little information.

What readers told me
This review has 28 comments since March 2020: 14 from readers and 14 replies from me. These are the things readers wrote about most.
Readers waited weeks or months for a survey reward or a PayPal cashout, and several say support did not answer. The most recent report is from April 2023.
Readers asked how long a cashout takes. It should arrive within one week. One reader was paid after a week and a day.
A reader found a different point value than I did. The exact conversion rate can vary from country to country.
“I later got paid last night that makes it a week and one day, so I think the site deserves an accolade.”
Mikael: That is great to hear. Thanks for the update.
“I redeemed a 20 paypal and a ten paypal customer service did email me one time and said it would be 7 to 10 days … still no payment and now no one will email me back”
Mikael: Sorry to hear that. Hope you will get the money soon. Keep me updated.

Mikael: The exact conversion rate can vary from country to country.

You must earn 1,600 Reward Points before you can redeem any rewards! You need 16 dollars in order to cash out 5.
The exact conversion rate can vary from country to country.
Are they paying you to plug for them?
No – you don’t think that if they paid me, they would have demanded more than 2.5-star rating?:-) Good to be critical but also do not just jump to conclusions and make random accusations like this.
These guys are frauds. I completed a survey back at the end of March and still have not been paid for it. They always state that they payout 2-6 weeks after a study is closed, so even if it closed in April that still leaves three full months in between. They just collect data from you for free and never give you anything in return. Their “customer support” is absolute garbage; took four weeks to get a response from a simple e-mail + follow up message. Mailed them again July 5th asking for details on when payment would be sent, have yet to hear back. If you’re at all on the fence about these people, do yourself a big favor and look elsewhere. This company will give you nothing but headaches as they don’t give a damn about you.
Sorry to hear that but thanks for taking the time to share your experiences.
Opinion champ is an Scamer survey page. They use your service completing task and they give you the points but when you “cash out” they never pay you. Im still waiting to get the email to complete the cash out but it doesnt comming.
A waste of time.
I have send a few mails to contact support but they dont answer neither.
BAD EXPERIENCE
Which country do you live in? Because if you do not live in one of the few countries Opinion Champ is officially available in, they will see it as fraud and then you will not get paid.
I have been waiting 1 week for my reward and I haven’t been paid yet, why is that?
I cannot say. It seems they are slowing down with the payments for some reason. You would need to contact their support to get them to check your account.
Let me know how it goes.
The first time I worked it took about 3 days to give me my reward it was $17, now I claimed my second reward and I have been waiting for almost 1 week. I really like the site but now it is taking a long time to pay and I write to support and they don’t answer me.
Sorry to hear that but thanks for sharing your experiences.
Hope their support will reply to you soon and that you will get your money.
Let me know how it goes.
Hello, Happy beginning of the week, today Monday I have not been paid by the site, hopefully this week I will get my reward.
Really hope you will get it this week. Keep me updated.
Do I need to be registered with PayPal to work the site? How long does it take to credit the points?
Yes, it only offers to pay via PayPal so you need a PayPal account to get paid. But if you want other rewards there are many other great sites you can use instead. What type of rewards would you like to earn? Then I can suggest some sites that offer this.
How long before one receives the fund in one’s PayPal account after cash out?
It should arrive within one week.
Thanks so much mikeal for the instant message, that was my first time cashing out and after I initiated the cash out, I got a message that a mail would be sent to my registered email, but up to this very moment, I’ve not received any mail, hope that is not a problem?
I cannot say for sure. But make sure to check your spam folder. And if you still have not received anything, then you should contact their support.
Hi mikael
I later got paid last night that makes it a week and one day, so I think the site deserves an accolade.
That is great to hear. Thanks for the update.
I did a survey for Opinion Champ about three weeks ago. It took me an hour to review 200 some songs for them. They had asked for my PayPal information, which I gave to them. I was told I would be paid $15.00 USD for my work. I still have not been paid and I have emailed them three times with NO response. I would not recommend using Opinion Champ if this is how they operate. It seems you do the work for free and they use the data you provide for what they need it for and then not pay or not even respond to inquiries.
Very sorry to hear that Kelli. Thanks for sharing your experiences with the rest of us. Hope they will get back to you soon and give you your money – keep us updated about how it goes.
I completed 2 surveys worth 9 000 points. One was about Starbucks especially their star rewards and still waiting for payment
Thanks for sharing your experiences. Let me know how it goes.
