I checked out Inspired Opinions, a UK survey panel owned by Sago. It is legit and pays well per survey, but invites are rare. Below is what I found, and which survey sites I recommend instead.
Legit, but invites are rare
High rewards per survey when you qualify. Gift cards only, and it seems to be UK only now.

The short answer
Inspired Opinions is not a scam. It is a legit survey site that rewards you for each survey you complete. It is owned by Sago (previously Schlesinger Group), an international market research company.
The rewards per survey are fairly high. But you do not receive invites often, there is no PayPal, and you have to provide a photo of your ID at some point. It can be a decent secondary site, if you are patient.
- Easy to use
- Relatively high reward for each survey completed
- Low £5 payout threshold
- Mobile-friendly website
- Payment via PayPal is not available
- Low invite frequency
- Long waiting period for payment to be received
- You have to provide a photo of your ID
- Seems to be only available in the UK now

Is Inspired Opinions legit and safe?
Yes, Inspired Opinions is legit. It rewards you for each survey you complete. But that does not automatically make it the right site for you. Here is what you should know.
- You do not get many invites
The rewards per survey are fairly high, but invites do not come often. The same is true for the research activities. You have to be very patient.
- You have to provide a photo of your ID
To validate your membership, you have to provide a photo of an ID. You can do this at a later time, but you have to do it at some point. This is not very common on survey sites.
- No PayPal, and payments take a while
You can usually choose between different gift cards, and sometimes Visa gift cards. There is no PayPal, and it can take a long time to receive your payment.
- Screen-outs after long surveys
As on any survey site, you do not qualify for every survey. In July 2023, a reader wrote that long surveys often ended with a message that she did not qualify, after she had answered many questions.
- It seems to be UK only now
The website says anyone can join, but it seems to only be available in the UK. The US site, inspiredopinions.com, was not working when I updated this review.
My takeWhat I like most about Inspired Opinions is that it offers fairly high rewards when you manage to qualify for a survey or research project. The downside is that you’ll have to be very patient because you will not find a lot of available projects here. It can be a decent secondary site to earn from, even though you don’t often receive invites.
Inspired Opinions sends few invites. The top sites in your country give you more ways to earn.

There are 3 ways to earn. Paid surveys are the main one. Tap one to read more.
Paid surveysMain earner
In the member dashboard, you see two types of surveys: research surveys and profile surveys. The research surveys are the ones that pay. You first answer pre-qualifying questions. If you qualify, you answer the actual survey and receive the promised reward.
Profile surveys do not pay, but take them whenever one is available. They increase your chances of receiving more surveys and other invites.
Some survey invitations come by email and are not posted in the member area, so keep an eye on your inbox. Sago also sometimes posts paid research projects on its Facebook page.
Research activitiesRewards well, rare
These are research projects over the phone, in person, by webcam, or product tests. Based on feedback from other members, they reward significantly well.
They do not come often, and I did not get an invite while I was testing. If you ever receive one, take advantage of it right away.
Referral programNo reward mentioned
You can refer a friend, but the website does not mention what you get for it. It seems you will not get paid to invite friends. Contact support if you want to know more.

How much can you make?
It depends mostly on how often you receive an invite, and on how often you qualify. Answer a survey as soon as you receive the invite: most surveys have a set number of respondents, and late members are disqualified automatically.
Based on feedback from longtime members, the rewards are quite high compared to other survey sites. You can receive up to £100 for one survey. The problem is that you do not receive invites often enough.
When you do get one, the reward makes up for it. But Inspired Opinions is a secondary site, not a way to earn regularly.
How you get paid
| Reward | Minimum |
|---|---|
| Gift cards | £5, can vary by reward |
| Visa gift cards (sometimes available) | £5, can vary by reward |
You need at least £5 to get paid. It used to be £10, and before that there was no threshold at all. £5 is a low threshold, in my opinion.
There is no PayPal, and payments can take a long time to arrive. If you want a Visa gift card, there are sites that pay them a lot faster: see the best ways to get free Visa gift cards.
What readers told me
This review has 2 comments since July 2023: 1 from a reader and 1 reply from me.
A reader quit after long, detailed surveys kept ending with a message that she did not qualify. I suggested she report it to support, because it can be an issue with one of their providers.
“each time I spend upwards of half an hour answering increasingly invasive and detailed questions – a FULL survey’s worth, and then it ends with “sorry you didn’t qualify for this survey””
Mikael: It is definitely frustrating when that happens. Did you try contacting their support about this? Because it might be an ossue for a provider they work with and if enough people report it to them, hopefully they will do something about it.

Who checked Inspired Opinions for this review
If you have any comments, questions, or experiences with Inspired Opinions, I would love to hear from you in a comment below.
on the contrary, Inspired Opinions IS a scam – I’ve decided to quit doing surveys for them, as each time I spend upwards of half an hour answering increasingly invasive and detailed questions – a FULL survey’s worth, and then it ends with “sorry you didn’t qualify for this survey” – so that they don’t have to pay you for your time – when it’s painfully obvious that you just DID do an entire survey for them. Once was annoying enough, but now it’s happening every time with long complex surveys coming to what seems to be the natural survey end and only THEN stating “sorry you didn’t qualify for this survey.”
Thanks for sharing your experiences. It is definitely frustrating when that happens. Did you try contacting their support about this? Because it might be an ossue for a provider they work with and if enough people report it to them, hopefully they will do something about it.
