Get Paid to Watch TV (4 Legit and Free Sites to Join)

I tested every site on this list

Getting paid to watch TV will not make you rich, but the sites below are legit and free to join, and they reward you for watching TV, shows or trailers. Below I show how you earn on each one and what you get.

Three good ways to get paid to watch TV

  1. #1 Media Rewards

Best for: Earning passively while you watch TV

The app runs in the background on your phone and picks up what you watch. Each month, your score enters you into a prize draw, and it does not drain your battery.

PayPal (prize draws) · Gift cards (surveys)
  2. #2 Netflix tagger

Best for: A real job watching Netflix shows

Probably the highest-paying option on this list. You watch Netflix shows and tag them by the guidelines they give you, and the work is relatively easy.

    What you get
    Job pay from Netflix
  3. #3 VolKno

Best for: Rating trailers in the US

You watch trailers for movies and TV shows and tell content creators what you like and dislike. It is not quite TV, but it is close.

    How you earn
Watch and rate movie and TV trailers · US only
    What you get
    Amazon gift cards

This is not a ranked list, so pick the ones that suit you and the country you live in.

4 best sites to join to get paid for watching TV

As I’ve mentioned earlier, the sites that will be included on this list are sites that I have used and tested myself. So, the information I will be providing will be based on my actual experiences.

And as explained above, these sites are free to join. You just need to invest a bit of time and some effort to earn from these sites. I will keep updating this list if I find more sites that will allow you to get paid to watch TV.

So, make sure to bookmark this page and check on it from time to time for new opportunities.

#1 Media Rewards

Media Rewards is a Get-Paid-To (GPT) app that will reward you for letting their app gather data about your TV watching and radio listening habits.

It’s a mobile app that will run in the background, and then you can watch TV shows on any device. Then, what will happen is, the app will “listen” to what you are watching. That’s basically how the app works.

Once the app is installed on your mobile device, you just need to make sure you have your mobile device with you, and the app is running in the background, and it will track your viewing habits.

It won’t eat up your battery life, though, so it’s not a hassle to use. At the end of the month, Media Rewards will calculate the score you’ve earned and enter you into the appropriate prize draw depending on the score you’ve earned.

The prize you can win will depend on the country you live in, and it can change from month to month. But I have seen winners getting up to $1,000/£1,000, which is a great prize. It also offers other ways to earn, like paid surveys, but you will only earn gift cards from this kind of opportunity.

The app is only available for people who live in the US, UK, Australia, India, and Mexico.

#2 Netflix tagger

How you earn

Paid as a job
What you get
Job pay from Netflix

This opportunity is probably the highest-paying option on this list. But I do have to warn you, it’s not easy to get into this kind of opportunity.

Let me explain how being a Netflix tagger works. If you get accepted as a Netflix tagger, you will be asked to watch their shows and tag them according to the guidelines they’ve provided you. The job is relatively easy to do.

The problem is how to get accepted as one of their taggers. This is because there are many people interested in this position, so you will have plenty of competition during the application process. The position is also not available all the time, so you will need to keep an eye out for it on their Netflix Jobs website.

#3 VolKno

How you earn
Watch and rate movie and TV trailers · US only
Cash out from
$55,000 flow
What you get
Amazon gift cards

VolKno is a GPT site that was created so you can tell content creators what you like and dislike. You’re technically not watching TV, but you’ll still be watching videos to earn, which, in my opinion, is essentially the same thing.

You can exchange the rewards you’ve earned for Amazon gift cards. You’ll need to earn at least $5 to redeem a reward from the site.

It is only available for residents in the US, so if you don’t live in the US, this is not for you.

#4 Nielsen Computer & Mobile Panel

What you get

Nielsen Computer & Mobile Panel is a program that gathers data about how people are using the internet. So, technically speaking, you are earning while watching your favorite TV shows online (among other things).

All you have to do is install their program on your desktop or laptop, or you can also use their mobile app. Then, it will gather data anonymously and send it to Nielsen, where it is combined with data from other panel members.

So, if you stream your favorite TV shows on your laptop, desktop, or mobile device, then you will earn rewards from Nielsen Computer & Mobile Panel. The exact rewards depend on the country you live in and the devices you use. But in most countries, you earn points that can be exchanged for gift cards or products.

In some countries, it can also be exchanged for cash via PayPal. It is available in quite a few countries, but they are not always recruiting. During my testing, they were recruiting in the US, UK, Australia, Hong Kong, Italy, New Zealand, and Germany. This does, however, regularly change. So, just check their website regularly to see which countries it is available in.

How to choose the right options for you?

Do not mind the order of the sites on this list. I did not list them in order of priority. In my opinion, they all offer equal opportunities.

Pick what suits you

Which sites you should join mostly depends on your preferences and, to a certain extent, the country you live in.

It will not make you rich

You can earn a decent amount from these sites if you are patient enough. But if you expect to get rich, you will only get disappointed.

If you want to get the most out of this, join more than one site, so you get access to more ways to earn:

  1. Join one siteStart with the one that fits you and your country best.
  2. Check your free timeIf you still have plenty of free time left, join another site.
  3. Stop when it is enoughKeep adding sites until you do not have time to use more.

Frequently asked questions

Can I watch Netflix and get paid?

Not from the apps and sites on this list. They will not make you rich. Media Rewards has big prizes in its monthly prize draws, but you are not sure to win anything. Being a Netflix tagger pays the most, but it is a job you have to be accepted for.
