The short answer

Enlighten Panel has closed. Its website is no longer accessible. You can no longer join or earn there.

When it was running, it was a legit survey site for people in South Africa. But it only paid in gift cards, it had one way to earn, and payouts were processed once a month, so rewards took 20 to 30 working days to arrive. Several readers reported rewards that did not arrive.

What I like
  • Low payout threshold
  • The site was mobile-friendly
  • Easy to use
  • Showed the reward and the expiry date of each survey
What I don’t like
  • Enlighten Panel has closed
  • Limited earning opportunities
  • Did not offer cash rewards
  • Took quite some time for you to receive your reward
  • Only for people in South Africa

My experience with Enlighten Panel

I tested Enlighten Panel before it closed. I signed up, looked at the surveys, the gift card catalog, the site on a phone and the support options. This is what I did myself, and what I did not test.

Was Enlighten Panel legit and safe?

Enlighten Panel has closed, so you can no longer join or earn on it. When it was running, it was legit, because it rewarded you for answering surveys. These were the catches.

  • It has closed

The website is no longer accessible, which means it has closed.

  • Slow rewards

Payouts were only processed once a month, so a gift card took 20 to 30 working days to arrive. Several readers report waiting months for rewards, or rewards that never arrived, and emails that were not answered.

  • Gift cards only

You could not earn cash. Gift cards can be as good as cash, but only for shops you use.

  • Few ways to earn

Surveys were the only way to earn, and there was no referral program. It could take some patience to get surveys.

My takeEnlighten Panel has closed, so it is no longer an option. When it was running, it could be a decent extra site for people in South Africa who did not mind gift cards and waiting. See the alternatives below.

How you earned on Enlighten Panel

There was one way to earn: paid surveys. Tap it to read more.

Paid surveysShown per survey
Surveys on Enlighten Panel

From time to time, you were invited to a survey. The dashboard had two parts: the available surveys, which paid rewards, and profiler surveys, which gathered information about you to qualify you for more surveys later.

Each survey started with a few screening questions. If you qualified, you went on to the actual survey and got the reward when you finished. If not, you moved on to the next survey, if there was one.

You saw the reward of each survey beforehand, and when it started and expired. I recommended doing the surveys you received first, because they would likely expire first.

How much could you make?

Not much. Surveys were the only way to earn, there was no referral program, and compared to many other survey sites, it could take some patience to get surveys.

The surveys did not give very high rewards either, and you could only get gift cards. So the earning potential was low.

How Enlighten Panel paid

Every survey earned you points, which you exchanged for gift cards from the catalog. The site used the South African Rand.

MethodMinimumNotes
Gift cards50 points (50 Rand)Around $3. Processed once a month, delivered in 20 to 30 working days.

The threshold was very low, but the wait was long. For sites with a low threshold that are still open, see the fastest paying survey sites.

  5. Agreed they get paid by companies to carry out the surveys by people like us use who join for the rewards but they haven’t been sending rewards.
The company that was running it was Columinate and now it’s Insites-consulting. I managed to get my reward by emailing the person in charge of incentive distribution [email protected].

This, after many emails and copying in the director’s having visited their website.
