10 Best Micro Job Sites to Earn Extra Cash (Legit & Free)

I tested every site on this list

Micro job sites pay you for small online tasks you can do from almost any country, but the pay per task is low, so see it as extra money next to your day job. Below I show what you do on each site, when you can cash out and how it pays.

My top 3 micro job sites

  1. #1 TimeBucks

Best for: Many kinds of small tasks in one place

9 top micro job sites

As I’ve mentioned earlier, this guide’s goal is to help you find the best micro job sites you can join.

So, I will only include sites that are really worth your time instead of listing as many sites as possible.

I will keep updating this list, so make sure to bookmark this page and check back from time to time for new opportunities.

#1 TimeBucks

What you do
Social media tasks, surveys, videos, offers
Cash out from
$3
Paid via
AirTM · Wise · PayPal +5 more

TimeBucks offers many different micro jobs you can do. The main ones are small social media tasks, like following people or liking pages and videos. You can also earn by answering surveys, watching online slideshows, watching videos, taking paid offers, and more.

It has a good number of micro jobs available, so you’ll be able to earn a decent amount regularly. It has a low payout threshold of $3, and once you reach it, you can withdraw your earnings via AirTM, Wise, PayPal, Visa, Skrill, Litecoin, Solana, and Revolut.

#2 OneForma

What you do
Data collection, transcription, translation · app
Cash out from
None
Paid via
PayPal · Payoneer

OneForma is a full-fledged micro job site. It is available more or less worldwide, so you can register as a member regardless of where you live. You can earn by completing jobs that require data collection, transcriptions, or translations. You can also earn by inviting other people to join the site.

What makes this site a good option is that you don’t have to reach a threshold to get paid. This is because they will pay you every month (of course, you have to earn first). Payment is done every month, and it will cover all your earnings from the previous month.

You can either choose to get paid via PayPal or Payoneer. OneForma also offers relatively high rewards for its micro jobs, so you’ll be able to earn a decent amount from it. You just have to be patient when applying for micro jobs because you won’t always get accepted.

#3 CrowdGen

What you do
AI data projects for certain countries
Cash out from
Nonepaid per project
Paid via
PayPal · Payoneer · Direct bank transfer +2 more

CrowdGen is a company that specializes in collecting and labeling images, text, speech, audio, video, and other data used to build and continuously improve the world’s most innovative artificial intelligence systems. It has gone through many name changes, including Appen Tasks, Appen Crowd, and Appen Connect.

To earn, you have to work on one of the projects posted on the site. It offers payments via PayPal or Payoneer. You can also get paid via direct bank transfer, Airtm, or an e-wallet.

CrowdGen is technically available globally. That means you can register as a member regardless of where you live. However, to sign up as a member, you’ll need to apply for any of the projects listed. The only problem is that projects are only available in certain locations, so you have to live in a certain country to be eligible to join CrowdGen.

#4 Respondent

What you do
Research projects, few but well paid
Cash out from
None5% or $1 fee per payment
Paid via
PayPal

Respondent is a form of crowdsourcing site that will pay you for participating in research activities. So, you will basically be participating in research projects. Aside from participating in research projects, you can also earn by inviting other people to join the site.

The good thing about this site is, you don’t have to reach a threshold to withdraw your earnings. Whenever you complete a project, the site will pay you via PayPal as soon as it receives the payment from the company/individual that posted the project.

It doesn’t have as many opportunities as the other sites on this list, but what makes it a good option is that most of the projects it offers pay a rather significant amount. So, even though there aren’t a lot of earning opportunities, you will still be able to earn a decent amount when you manage to complete even just one project.

#5 Fancy Hands

What you do
Calls, appointments, price checks · US only
Cash out from
Nonepaid weekly
Paid via
Bank transfer

Fancy Hands offers a different kind of micro jobs than most other platforms, and if you live in the US, it can be an interesting way to earn some extra money.

The tasks are, for example, to make phone calls, schedule appointments, track down the best price for something, and more.

Most jobs will pay you $3-$4 per job, and you get paid weekly via bank transfer.

#6 ClickWorker

What you do
Sort website data, plus paid surveys
Cash out from
$10
Paid via
PayPal · SEPA · Transferwise

ClickWorker is a micro jobs site that mainly offers data entry jobs. Most of the jobs will ask you to categorize the data from websites.

It has a relatively low payout threshold of $10, so you’ll be able to withdraw your earnings quite easily. Once you hit the threshold, you can withdraw it either via PayPal, Transferwise, or SEPA.

What makes this site a decent option is, if you don’t feel like doing data entry jobs or if there aren’t any available jobs, you can still earn by answering paid surveys. So, it’s a bit more flexible in terms of the earning opportunities it offers.

#7 Hive Micro

What you do
AI tasks like tagging images · Android and iPhone app
Cash out from
$10paid every Tuesday
Paid via
PayPal · Bitcoin

Hive Micro offers plenty of micro jobs, and you can join from any country.

Most of the tasks are tasks that need human intelligence to train AI, so you will, for example, identify items in images, classify pixels in images, and similar tasks. It takes some patience, but with a bit of practice, it can be a nice way to find legit micro jobs.

Once you have earned $10, you can get paid in PayPal cash or Bitcoin.

#8 MicroWorkers

What you do
Many small job categories
Cash out from
$9Payoneer $20; first payout needs a PIN by mail
Paid via
Payoneer · PayPal · Dwolla (US only) +2 more

MicroWorkers is an online platform that will allow you to earn money by doing small online jobs. It has quite a lot of job categories you can choose from, so you won’t run out of opportunities to earn. They don’t pay as well as the other sites on this list, but you will still be able to earn a decent amount. You just need to be a bit more patient.

It has a relatively low payout threshold for PayPal, Dwolla, Skrill, or Transpay ($9). But if you choose to withdraw your earnings via Payoneer, you will need to earn $20, which is relatively high, in my opinion.

The first time you request a payout, a PIN will be mailed to your home address, and it will usually take about four weeks for you to receive it. So, it can take quite some time to get paid the first time. But once you have your PIN, withdrawing your earnings will be a lot easier.

#9 appJobber

What you do
Photos of products in stores · Europe only, app
Cash out from
None
Paid via
PayPal · Bank transfer

appJobber is a micro-job app that will allow you to earn money by completing small jobs. Most of the time, their jobs will involve taking photos of certain products or items in stores/shops. Sometimes, you can also find jobs that will ask you to take photos of certain locations or spots.

You can get paid via PayPal or bank transfer. Best of all, you don’t need to reach a threshold to receive your earnings.

appJobber is only available in Europe. It has a mobile app that works with both Android and iOS devices.

How are the opportunities to earn on micro job sites?

There are plenty of micro job sites, and they have big clients, so there is a steady source of jobs. The opportunities are pretty good.

Join from almost anywhere

Most of these sites let you join and earn, wherever you are from.

Tasks differ by country

The number of opportunities can be different depending on your country.

To choose the right sites, look at their earning potential. I check four things, and every site on this list scores well on them:

  • Plenty of opportunities to earn.
  • Good pay for the work.
  • A realistic payout threshold: one you can easily reach.
  • Convenient payment methods.
When you can cash outNumber of the 9 sites per lowest cash-out amount. Sites with no threshold count as $1 or less.
  • $1 or less5 of 9
  • $2 to $51 of 9
  • $6 to $103 of 9
  • $11 to $200 of 9
  • More than $200 of 9
  • Depends on country or option0 of 9

How to earn the most?

  1. Choose the right tasksEach site offers different jobs. The list shows which tasks each site has, so pick the ones you find most interesting.
  2. Use as many as you canTake full advantage of all the earning opportunities on the sites you join. My full reviews explain each earning method.
  3. Join 5 to 7 sitesMore sites give you access to more opportunities, and that leads to more earnings.

Not a replacement for a day job

What you earn on these sites does not compare to a full-time job. If you start with that expectation, you will be disappointed.

You can start already today.

You can still earn a decent amount by putting in a bit of time and effort regularly, no matter your background.

Frequently asked questions

What is the best micro job site?

My top 3 are TimeBucks, OneForma and CrowdGen. TimeBucks has many kinds of small tasks with a $3 threshold, OneForma pays relatively high rewards every month, and CrowdGen has AI data projects.

The comparison shows what you do on each of the 9 sites and when you can cash out.

Are microjobs real or fake?

Many are real. All the sites on this list are legit and free to join, and I have tested them myself. Not all micro job sites are worth your time, though, which is why I made this list.

Do microworkers really pay?

Many readers told me their MicroWorkers payouts never arrived, and it charges fees when you withdraw. That is why I took it off this list. Choose one of the sites in the comparison instead.

Can I get paid for micro tasks online?

Yes. You can earn by visiting websites, watching videos, labeling images, collecting data, transcribing and more. Most sites on this list accept members from any country, but the number of tasks can differ by country.

They are a good way to earn some extra money, but not a replacement for a day job. If you put in a bit of time and effort regularly, you can earn a decent amount. You can start no matter your background.

What are some legitimate microtask jobs?

Data entry and data collection on ClickWorker and OneForma, AI tasks like tagging images on Hive Micro, research projects on Respondent, and in-store photo jobs on appJobber in Europe.

    • Timebucks definitely pays if you do things honestly.

But it seems you have misunderstood how their payment system works. You have to go to your settings and choose a method and then once your account has been approved, they will process they payments daily. You can click the link above to read the full review and tutorial to see more details.
