Is MyLot a Scam or Legit? (Find Out Before Joining)

MyLot Rating

MyLot is a decent site if you are patient. You get paid automatically via PayPal if you reach the threshold of $5. The important thing to know is that you have to be patient as the rewards are quite low.

I tested MyLot, an online community that pays you for taking part in discussions. It is legit and pays through PayPal from $5, but the rewards are low. Below is what I found, and which sites I recommend instead.

The short answer

No, MyLot is not a scam. It is an online community that pays you for taking part in discussions and for a few paid offers. It pays automatically to PayPal once you reach $5.

But the rewards are low, so you need to invest a lot of time to earn a significant amount. MyLot does not explain how it calculates what you earn from discussions, and there is no way to contact its support team.

What I like
  • Available globally
  • Low payout threshold
  • Pays via PayPal
  • Payouts are automatic, with no request needed
What I don’t like
  • Limited earning opportunities
  • Low rewards
  • Doesn’t provide an option to get in touch with their support team
  • Does not outline how discussion rewards are calculated

Is MyLot legit and safe?

No, MyLot is not a scam. It does pay you for taking part in discussions and other activities. But that does not tell you whether it is a good way to earn. Here is what you should know.

  • The rewards are low

Paid offers only pay $0.01 to $0.20, and what you earn from discussions will most likely be even lower. To earn a significant amount, you have to spend a lot of time on it.

  • No clear reward structure

MyLot does not outline how it rewards discussions, so you cannot gauge what you will earn. You only get paid when other members reply to, like or comment on your post or reply.

  • Your posts must follow the rules

Your contributions must add value and follow the Community Guidelines. Otherwise, you will not get rewarded. Read the guidelines before you post.

  • You wait for your money

MyLot pays once a month, on or before the 15th, for the balance you had at the end of the month before. You do not have to request it, but you wait quite a while.

  • No way to contact support

The FAQ pages are detailed, but there is no contact form or email address. If the FAQ does not answer your question, you are left hanging.

My takeMyLot is a decent site to join if you don’t mind spending a lot of time on it. You get paid automatically via PayPal if you reach their low threshold of $5. But you have to invest a lot of time to earn a significant amount, because they don’t pay that well. It can be a fun way to earn if you like to be a part of online communities.

MyLot pays little for a lot of time. The top sites in your country have better earning potential.

How you earn on MyLot

There are 2 ways to earn. The discussion boards are the main one. Tap one to read more.

Discussion boardsNot outlined

Any time you start a discussion, respond to one, or comment in one, you make a contribution that can earn money. Log in, pick a topic you want to take part in, and take part.

Do not post just for the sake of it. Your contribution has to add value, or you will not get rewarded. Read the Community Guidelines first. Their basic gist is to make sure everybody has a fun time on the site.

You only get paid when other members reply to, like or comment on your post or reply. The best way to earn more is to make a lot of friends: follow them, and they might follow you back, so you always find discussions to take part in.

Paid offers$0.01 to $0.20
MyLot paid offers

Paid offers are small tasks like answering a survey, registering for a site, answering a quiz or playing a game. Each offer lists its requirements and what you earn, and the reward is credited to your MyLot account instantly.

The offers come from partner sites, so do not be alarmed when you are taken to a different site. There are not many offers, and GPT sites that specialize in paid offers usually pay a lot more for the same offers.

How much can you make?

MyLot does not outline the reward structure for its discussion boards, so there is no way to accurately gauge how much you will earn. In my opinion, it is never good when a site is not fully transparent about how your earnings are calculated.

Paid offers range from $0.01 to $0.20 per offer, and discussions will most likely pay even less. So I would say MyLot has a low earning potential unless you have already built a massive following.

Payout method, minimum and speed

MethodMinimumSpeed
PayPal$5Automatic, on or before the 15th of the month after you reach $5

MyLot does not use points. You earn a set amount for every activity. If your earnings are $5 or more at the end of a month, MyLot pays you on or before the 15th of the following month. You do not have to request it, but you wait quite a while.

You need a verified PayPal account before you join, because PayPal is the only payment method. If you want sites that pay faster, see the fastest paying sites.

Who can join, and can you get support?

MyLot is available globally for people aged 18 and over. The registration form asks for your full name, email address, username and password, and that is it. The website is mobile-friendly, so you can take part in discussions from your phone.

MyLot has very detailed FAQ pages about how the site and its earnings program work. But that is where the support stops. There is no contact form or email address, so if the FAQ pages do not answer your question, you are left hanging.

  1. I have been a member for a good while there on myLot, but no longer am I going to participate in writing, because myLot love to censor posts, delete them and take the money you’ve earned on those posts. Example, I just wrote a post last week, The topic and question was a Traveling question about where someone would go if they had the choice to travel some where. I interacted with others on my post, then all of a sudden logged in, the post was gone and so was the money earned. I will never forgive them!
