Are Univox Community Surveys Worth It? (In-Depth Univox Review)

Univox Community has rebranded and no longer exist. The platform is now called SayMore. You can still log in with the same details you used if you had a Univox account. You can read more about SayMore through the link below.

Univox Community no longer exists

On Dec 20, 2023, Univox Community changed its name to SayMore, with a new design. Univox no longer exists under its old name, so you cannot join or earn on Univox Community now. If you had a Univox account, you can still log in to SayMore with the same details.

After my first test of SayMore, not much has changed. You can read my full SayMore review. I keep my Univox review below as a record. The sites I would pick instead are further down.

Univox Community was a survey site that paid you for your opinion. It no longer exists: it is now called SayMore. I tested Univox myself for years and was paid by it many times. Below is what I found, and which sites I would pick instead.

Univox Community no longer exists

Univox Community is now called SayMore, so you can no longer join Univox. When it was running, it was legit and paid me many times, but it had fallen behind its competitors.

The short answer

Univox Community no longer exists. It changed its name to SayMore, so you can no longer join Univox. If you had an account, you can log in to SayMore with the same details.

When it was running, Univox was legit, and it paid me many times. But it had a high payout threshold of $25 for new members, payouts could take weeks, and the support was inconsistent. It used to be a pretty good site, but it fell behind and was no longer one of my top picks.

What I like
  • Good payout options, including PayPal in many countries
  • Easy to use on the go, with an app for Android and iOS
  • A decent number of surveys, depending on your country
What I don’t like
  • Univox Community no longer exists
  • A fairly high payout threshold at the lower membership levels
  • Confusing to navigate at first
  • Support could be better
  • It could take a long time to get paid

My experience with Univox Community

I tested and used Univox Community for years. I took surveys, used the extra ways to earn and was paid many times. This is what I did myself, and what I did not test.

Was Univox Community legit and safe?

Univox Community no longer exists under its old name. When it was running, it was legit and safe: I was paid by it many times. These were the catches.

  • It no longer exists

Univox changed its name to SayMore, so you cannot join Univox Community now.

  • Payouts could take weeks

How long a payout took seemed a bit random: sometimes a few days, sometimes weeks. Several readers report slow payouts or refused cashouts. You also had to apply for account approval before your first payout, which took up to 15 days.

  • A high threshold for new members

Basic members needed 2,500 points ($25) to cash out. Only at the Ambassador level did that drop to $10.

  • Points could expire

Your points could expire if you were not active, and the site did not say after how long. I recommended cashing out as soon as you could.

  • Limited spots per country

Univox accepted a limited number of members per country. You only knew if it was open in your country when you tried to join.

My takeUnivox Community no longer exists, and SayMore has not changed much so far. When it was running, it could give you some extra cash, but there were many better options. See the alternatives below.

How you earned on Univox Community

Surveys were the main way to earn, and there were a few extras. Tap one to read more.

Paid surveysSet per survey

Surveys were the main way to earn. Most took between 10 and 25 minutes, and longer surveys paid more. The pay was decent for the time, for a survey site.

I usually had several surveys a day, but that varied by country, by the time of year and around holidays and weekends. You did not qualify for every survey, but you got around 5 points when you screened out. Not many sites offer that.

ContestsSmall prizes
Example of a Univox contest on Facebook

Univox regularly ran free contests, posted on its social media and sometimes in the forum. They were quick quizzes or short writing challenges. The prizes were usually not very big.

There also used to be “Surprise me” contests with a few winners based on survey activity, but they were no longer available in most countries.

Wheel of FortuneUp to $10 in points
Univox Community Wheel of Fortune

You got 1 free spin a day. You had to be lucky to win the top prize, but a spin only took a few seconds.

Invite a friend$1 per friend

You got $1 for each friend who joined and did at least 1 survey or attempted 10. After that, you got 10 cents every time your friend took a survey.

Wall of Fame bonuses25 to 600 points
Univox Wall of Fame monthly rewards

Two leaderboards ranked the most active member of the day and of the month, based on an engagement score. The daily winner got 25 to 200 points, and the 20 monthly winners got 25 to 600 points, depending on their membership level.

The four membership levels

Everyone started as a Basic member. You moved to Verified after 3 or more redemptions, Premium after 5 or more, and Ambassador after 10 or more.

Higher levels gave you a lower payout threshold, faster payouts, more survey invites and better chances in the contests. You did not have to do anything special to move up, except stay active.

How much could you make?

It depended a lot on where you lived. In a country with regular surveys, Univox could give you some nice extra cash on the side. It was never a full-time income, and survey sites are not meant for that.

How Univox Community paid

You earned points for every survey, and you could cash out from 2,500 points ($25) as a Basic member, or from $10 at the Ambassador level.

MethodMinimumNotes
PayPal$25In many countries
Virtual Visa or Mastercard$25Depending on your country
Tango Card$25Depending on your country
Amazon gift cards$25Depending on your country

Before your first payout, you had to apply for account approval under “redeem points”, which could take up to 15 days. After you asked for a payout, it sometimes came in a few days and sometimes took weeks.

For sites with lower thresholds, see the fastest paying survey sites.

What 45 readers told me

This review has 89 comments since March 2017: 45 from readers and 44 replies from me. These are the three things readers wrote about most.

Slow or refused payouts8 comments

Several readers report payouts that took weeks or months, or a cashout that was refused. Another reader wrote that they were paid within 2 days.

Joining from your country7 comments

Readers from India, Indonesia and Nigeria asked if they could join, or got a message that Univox had enough members from their country.

Screen-outs and the threshold4 comments

A few readers found it hard to qualify for surveys or to reach the points needed for a payout.

“I want to know how many days to get your reward after requesting it some of my friends say it will take more than 60 day is that right?”

Reader, July 2023
Mikael: Sometimes Univox pays within a week, in my experience. But other times they can be really slow, so I cannot say for sure.

“could you please help me signing up to Univox community it keeps saying We have enough respondents from your current location, please come back after some time.”

Reader, December 2021
Mikael: As the message you got is saying, they do not have any available spots in your country at the moment, and nothing to do about that. Usually, new spots will be available in the beginning of next month.

“They really pay and they were quite fast. Received payment in just 2 days.”

Reader, October 2020
Mikael: That is great to hear. Thanks for sharing.

    • Comments do not show publicly on muy website until they have been manually approved. If that was not the case, I would get a ton of spam. That is why it can take some time from you comment until it will show publicly.

Mikael I read what you wrote and think you need to update it. There is no Forum, there is no Surprise Me. Wheel of Fortune is good if you get surveys to complete but a waste of time.

Redemptions you have to consistently ask for them. Which now takes anywhere from 2 weeks – 2 months or even longer. No PayPal ( Australia)

They block accounts for no reason or give you this list of defamatory reasons without no proof.

Do not answer emails and when they do, they do not read the ticket and write some jargon down that has got nothing to do with what you asked.

Social media they have blocked that, as well.

    • Thanks for sharing your experiences. I will look into getting it updated asap. Just be aware that there can be some differences depending on the country you live in.

    • Once you reach the payout threshold, you just redeem inside the platform, as I describe in the review above. If you have problems with this, only their support can help.

  4. Yes, the reward threshold for Paypal as current is really high~ over 40,000 points. It will take a while but hopefully when you move to a higher level, it will be easier to redeem the rewards. Good luck to all 🙂

  5. Hello Mikael ! Many thanks for sharing over all situation………. Its very informative and shocking information for especially new innocent users. Please suggest us the best Survey platforms, instead of these type of farted and fucker tough survey sites, really wastes time and ignores the users. I am too user of this farted survey site, but I think its not good earning source for users, and very boring tasks. Please suggest any new and good survey site. India

  6. I am shocked by your review. They ask extremely invasive question and offer almost nothing. It takes months and dozens of hours and still nowhere near to get the points required for withdrawal.
How much did u get from them to leave this review? I am shocked they are still allowed to function.

    • I always welcome feedback, even if it is different than my experience. But do it in a proper tone and do not make accusations just because my experience is different than yours. I am very transparent in all my reviews and have always tested the sites myself, and I have been paid by Univox many times. As mentioned above, how good the opportunities depend on the country you live in, and there are also things they could improve, as I also mention above.

So feel free to share your experiences so others can see them. But stop the unjust accusations just because you disagree in some aspects. That is not a way to communicate or talk to others.

  7. Hello Mikael, I have two questions regarding univox.

    1) does they pay $0.10 on every survey (in India because on their site they have only mentioned about $1 commission) that my referral takes? I mean if my referral takes a survey worth $.05 or $0.10 do i get $0.10 in this case.

    2) I have just signup, and while checking their site I notice they only offers tango and virtual incentive methods for India and what seemed more weird to me is their first redemption rule that is “You can request a reward only if your previous request is approved.” which seems illogical, what if I am new and redeeming for the first time, if you know about that can you please explain.

    • There are some delays in payouts so it takes a bit of patience at times but they definitely do pay. Some people just tend to panic and complain after not having received the money after a few days instead of just reaching out to their support. As long as you do everything honestly, you will definitely get your earnings.

      • Just to let you know. I did not panic and complain for nothing. ALL these people who complained they could not cash out was not anything to do with having no patience! We were literally kicked out once we reached the level where we could cash out! I answered all surveys with 100% honesty. Lucky you for being able to cash out…but many of us were kicked out!! This is beyond a scam! I have been trying to reach them for 3 weeks, sent numerous emails and called and left voice mails! I put in many many hours doing these surveys….so no not just lack of patience on our end!!!!! Seems to me you work for them and are part of the scamming!!

        • @Tanya: I always welcome people sharing their experiences but just because mine a different do not start accusing me of being a scammer. If you actually read my reviews and watch my videos, you would know I am always honest and happily reveal scams. Feel free to share your experiences here but keep it in a proper tone.

When that is said, I do agree that the support has definitely become worse recently and that is definitely something I hope they will improve and I will keep an eye on this. If that does not happen, I will definitely update my review and include that info.

We’d like you to try again on other surveys. Unfortunately, this session was not eligible for any participation points as your responses didn’t match with the main survey requirements.”

    • There is no way to qualify for all surveys. Not qualifying for surveys is a part of taking surveys and it happens all the time for everyone. But there are some things you can do to optimize your chances of qualifying. I have an article about it here.

About the link taking you to Toluna, I have just checked and it was simply because of an error. I have now fixed that – thank you very much for letting me know as errors like this are very hard to spot so I really appreciate you taking the time to let me know.

  15. In 2016 and 2017 this site was very unique and honest to pay
But in the last year his policy has been to deny member payments
Hundreds of members suffer from the same problem
The company avoids paying and receiving false arguments such as that the member is using illegal methods to resolve the questionnaire
If this is true, the company is the blame and must rebuild itself and increase its protection
Not to take the effort of its members

  16. Thanks for sharing your review of Univox Community. It seems that there are more and more survey sites where it is just practically impossible to get qualified for a survey and if you manage to get qualified for one then it doesn’t always pay much and it may be a long time before you get qualified for another one. That is very odd that Univox Community does not list any of the 17 countries in which you can take surveys. To me that is a sign that it just might not be worth it to join them.

    Reply
    • Thanks for your comment Brian. Luckily there are also many survey sites that are good. But yes it can take a bit of testing to find the ones that works best in your area. I also think that it is very strange that Univox explain that it offers surveys in 17 countries, but at the same moment does not tell which countries it is – that seems a bit odd:-)

In general it is also not one of the sites that I would recommend, as there are many survey sites that are better and give better opportunities.
