Gamekit has closed

Gamekit has shut down and is no longer a way to earn extra money on the side. You cannot join or earn on it now. I keep my review below as a record. The sites I would pick instead are further down.

Gamekit gave you points for playing games, answering surveys and inviting friends, and you could swap them for skins, games and gaming currency. It has now shut down. I tested it myself before that. Below is what I found, and which sites I would pick instead.

The short answer

Gamekit has shut down. You can no longer join or earn there.

When it was running, it was legit: you really could redeem rewards for the points you earned. But every game took quite a lot of time to complete, and the only cash reward was a prepaid Mastercard, because PayPal was out of stock when I tested it. It suited gamers who wanted in-game items more than people who wanted cash.

What I like
  • Was a fun way to earn rewards
  • Offered decent rewards for the games
  • Skins, full games and gaming currency as rewards
What I don’t like
  • Gamekit has shut down
  • The games took a lot of time to complete
  • Few cash reward options
  • The app was only for Android

My experience with Gamekit

I signed up for Gamekit and went through its games, surveys, referral program and reward options. This is what I did myself, and what I did not test.

Was Gamekit legit and safe?

Gamekit has shut down, so you can no longer join or earn on it. When it was running, it was legit, because you really could redeem rewards for your points. These were the catches.

  • It has shut down

Gamekit is no longer a way to earn extra money on the side.

  • The games took a lot of time

Most games asked you to reach a certain level, or to win a certain number of times, before you got the reward. You could not breeze through the games.

  • Few cash rewards

During my testing, PayPal was out of stock, so the only cash reward was a prepaid Mastercard. Most rewards needed a lot of points, and there was no set point value.

  • Duplicate game keys

The random Steam game keys needed fewer points than most rewards, but there were a lot of complaints about members redeeming duplicate game keys.

  • Missed rewards and VPN bans

You had to click “Get Started” for Gamekit to track a game. Some members did not get the reward because they forgot that one step. Using a VPN got you banned right away.

My takeGamekit has shut down, so it is no longer an option. When it was running, it could be a decent site for gamers who wanted in-game items or gaming currency, but not for people who wanted cash. See the alternatives below.

How you earned on Gamekit

There were three ways to earn. Tap each one to read more.

Playing games2,000 to 20,000 points
Play games on Gamekit

Most of your rewards came from playing games. When you logged in, you saw all the games you could play.

Each game had requirements you needed to meet to earn the reward. Most asked you to reach a certain level, and some asked you to win a certain number of times.

You always had to click the “Get Started” button to go to the game. That was the only way Gamekit could track the game you played. Some members complained they did not get the reward, because they forgot that step.

There were only a few mobile games, so most of the time you had to play on your computer.

Paid surveysUp to 1,800 points
Gamekit surveys

Gamekit also had surveys, powered by Samplicio.us, a survey provider that works with many GPT sites.

You first answered a couple of profiling questions. Then each survey had its own qualifying questions. If you qualified and finished the survey, you got the reward.

You did not qualify for every survey, so it took some patience.

Referral program15,000 points per referral
Gamekit referral program

You could invite people with your invite link. When they signed up through it, they became your referral.

You got the 15,000 points only after your referral redeemed their first reward, so it only paid off with people who really wanted to earn on Gamekit.

How much could you make?

It depended on how active you were. Gamekit had a decent number of games, so you did not run out of things to do.

Most games paid around 2,000 to 20,000 points, which I found fair for the time a game took. Overall, the earning potential was decent, but only if you were ready to invest a lot of time.

How Gamekit paid

Every activity earned you points, which you exchanged for in-game items, gaming currency, gift cards and more. There was no set number of points per dollar, so it was hard to say what a point was worth.

RewardNotes
Steam gift card8,599 points for $5, 15,999 points for $10
Prepaid MastercardThe only cash reward during my testing
PayPalOut of stock during my testing
Random Steam game keysFewer points than most rewards, but many complaints about duplicate keys
Skins, full games and gaming currencyThe number of points depended on the reward

The payment system was more complicated than on most other GPT sites. For sites that pay in cash, see the top sites that pay via PayPal.

Who could join Gamekit?

Gamekit’s terms said it was available in all countries. But from the feedback I received from visitors all over the world, it was not possible to join from every country.

You could join from Belgium, Denmark, Finland, Latvia, Malta, Norway, Portugal, Sweden, Ukraine, Canada, the US and Argentina from the age of 13. In Austria, Bulgaria, Cyprus, Estonia, Italy, Lithuania, Spain and Mexico you had to be at least 14, and in the Czech Republic, Chile and France at least 15.

You could sign up with your Google, Facebook or Steam account, or with your own login details. Only one account per household was allowed, and Gamekit banned you right away if you used a VPN.
