I tested Gamehag to see if earning rewards by playing games is worth your time. You earn Soul Gems, not cash, and the rewards are low. Below is what I found, what readers report, and which sites I would pick first.

The short answer
Gamehag is a Get-Paid-To (GPT) site that rewards you for playing online games, among other things. It has a video game feel, and it can be a fun way to earn in-game rewards.
But it does not pay cash, and the rewards are low for the work you do. Several readers also told me that quests were rejected or that rewards did not arrive. If you want to earn extra cash, look somewhere else.

Is Gamehag legit and safe?
Gamehag is a real site, and you can earn Soul Gems on it. But it does not pay cash, and several readers report quests and rewards they did not get. Here is what you should know.
- Several readers report rejected quests and missing rewards
In 2022, readers told me that quests they completed were rejected, and that Gamehag took their Soul Gems without giving them the game key they redeemed. Readers also wrote that support did not help them. None of the readers who commented wrote that they received a reward.
- No cash rewards
You can only redeem Soul Gems for in-game items, game keys, voucher codes, Steam Wallet codes and Openbucks. If you want cash, see the top sites that pay via PayPal.
- No clear value for your Soul Gems
Every reward costs a different number of Soul Gems. A $10 Steam Wallet code costs 5,299 Soul Gems, while a $10 Openbucks voucher costs 5,599. That makes it hard to calculate what you have earned.
- Low rewards for the work
Short tasks do not pay much. Writing an article pays 250 Soul Gems, which is only about $0.50 in Steam Wallet value.
- Paid VIP system
Gamehag has a VIP system that is designed to help you earn more, but it costs $4 a month.
My takeIf you like playing games online, Gamehag can be a fun way to earn in-game rewards. But if you are mainly looking to earn extra cash, I suggest you look somewhere else. The site does not offer cash rewards, and the rewards you earn are not really that good.
Gamehag does not pay cash. The top sites in your country pay you in cash and give you more ways to earn.

There are 4 main ways to earn, plus bonuses. Tap one to read more.
TasksSmall
Tasks ask you to do small things, like signing up for a site or linking a social media account. Other tasks are more like what you find on other GPT sites: answering surveys, downloading apps, or playing an online game until you reach a certain level or achievement.
Most tasks ask you to do one thing. Click the Complete button, follow the instructions in the new tab, and the reward is usually credited right away. Rewards for surveys can take longer to show up. Keep track of the tasks you completed, and contact support if a reward does not show up after several days.
Mini-gamesLow
You earn rewards for reaching a certain score in skill-based arcade games. In the Flapcat Steampunk mini-game, for example, you are rewarded for every 40 points. It is fun, but the rewards are not that high.
DealsNot always available
Deals are like tasks, but with a different requirement. Most of them involve a video game. The World of Warships deal, for example, asks you to write an article about the game on the Gamehag forum. Some deals let you use your Soul Gems to redeem in-game items.
There are not always deals available, so take them when you can.
Writing articles and making videos250 Soul Gems per article
You can write an article about a video game for a fixed reward of 250 Soul Gems. The article must be original, and the topic must not already exist on the site. You get more guidelines when you write it.
You can also make a YouTube video to promote the site. There is no set rate. You submit the link, and Gamehag evaluates the video and rewards you with what it thinks is a suitable amount of Soul Gems.
Milestones, top earners and VIPBonuses
Gamehag gives you bonuses when you reach certain milestones, or when you are one of the three top earners of the day. It also has a VIP system that is designed to help you earn more, but it costs $4 a month.
When you first log in, you also go through tutorials about the basics of the site. They pay a small reward for each tutorial.
How much can you make?
Technically, you cannot earn cash on Gamehag. But some of the rewards, like Steam Wallet codes, can be considered cash.
Some tasks pay a decent amount of Soul Gems, but in my opinion they do not pay well for the work you have to do. If you base the value of Soul Gems on Steam Wallet codes, an article that earns you 250 Soul Gems is only worth about $0.50.
Overall, Gamehag does not have a high earning potential. Its real value is that you can earn rewards while playing video games. If you want more sites like this, see the best ways to earn money by playing games online.
Rewards and what they cost
| Reward | Cost | Notes |
|---|---|---|
| Steam Wallet code | 5,299 Soul Gems for $10 | Virtual currency for the Steam store |
| Openbucks voucher | 5,599 Soul Gems for $10 | Virtual currency, mostly for in-game purchases |
| CD keys for video games | Varies by game | Redeem a key to get the game |
| In-game items and voucher codes | Varies by reward | Some deals also let you spend Soul Gems on in-game items |
Gamehag does not offer cash. Every reward costs a different number of Soul Gems, so there is no clear-cut conversion rate. If you prefer to earn cash, see the top sites that pay via PayPal.

I have the same experience, completed several quests for 3 games, but rejected everytime. And support doesnt do anything. Complete scam.
Thanks for sharing your experiences.
Gamehag is a scam. Few years ago I tried to accumulate certain amount of gems by completing a number of quests for certain game I wanted. Once I collected enough gems for the game that I wished for I went on to “buy” it or to receive a redeemable code for it and all it did was it took my gems, that took me almost 2 months to collect and with no redeemable code and explanation why I didn’t get it. It’s just a waste of time and you get nothing in return.
Thanks for sharing your experiences.
I have complited 2 quests and received nothong.
You need to contact their support about this.
This is false, while they do offer you soul gems, there are alot of quests where even though you complete them, they reject you making up some excuse to not pay out soul gems. While you can get up soul gems from all the other tasks among the tasks you can complete from video games, for the reward you want, they will, one way or another, not give you the final reward. Either by links not working, code invalid and many other excuses. If you take them up on it, they refuse to help you and blame everything on you. I had several games myself where i did the quests several times with different new accounts to make sure i didnt do anything wrong. They rejected the quests each and every time. Regardless of me making a new account according to every step they require and do the missions as stated. Also alot of the surveys just kick you out at the end of the survey without awarding the soul gems, no matter how honest and consistent you are with your answers. I am also not the only one with these problems, there are plenty on the site who are begging for help to understand what they are doing wrong and plenty of others who lose their gems and not get their rewards because of faulty link or expired/used game/platform-funding keycodes. So while it might look legit at first glance, the further you get on the platform, the more you start finding out what kind of business they are actually running. Spoilers: Its a scam.
Thanks for sharing your opinion about this.
You just told everything like it is. I think I couldn’t be more correct, explaining to it that way. I recognize your effort, spending time to explain 100% at best. Not only that, but I know how Gamehag is a waste of time in general, so great job, and thanks for letting others know.
