DonkeyMails Review – Is It a Scam? (All You Need to Know)

DonkeyMails Rating

DonkeyMails pays you for clicking ads and completing offers. But the main drawback is its low earning rewards, and that you cannot get your earnings out but only use them for advertising on the site.

DonkeyMails is a Paid-To-Click (PTC) site that rewards you for viewing ads, completing offers and more. I tested it to see if it is worth your time. It is not a scam, but since February 2020 you cannot get your earnings out as cash or gift cards. Below is what I found, and which sites I recommend instead.

Not a scam, but you cannot cash out

DonkeyMails has been around since 2005, but since February 2020 you can only use your earnings for advertising on the site. The rewards are low too.

Good for you ifYou want cheap advertising for your own website, and you accept it will not be very effective.

The short answer

DonkeyMails is not a scam, but you also cannot really earn there anymore in the sense you might expect. It has been around since 2005 and has plenty of ways to collect rewards.

But since February 2020, you cannot get your earnings out as cash or gift cards. You can only use them for advertising on DonkeyMails. On top of that, the rewards are low, and the site is not optimized for phones. If you want to earn real cash, this is not the site for you.

What I like
  • Several ways to collect rewards
  • Open to everyone, regardless of where you live
  • A very simple sign-up
What I don’t like
  • You cannot get your earnings out, only use them for advertising
  • Low rewards
  • Not optimized for phones
  • An old design and a poor user interface

My experience with DonkeyMails

I signed up for DonkeyMails and went through its ways to earn, the payout options and the support. This is what I did myself, and what I did not test.

Is DonkeyMails legit and safe?

DonkeyMails is not a scam, because it has been around since 2005 and still rewards you for its offers. But these catches make it hard to recommend.

  • You cannot get your earnings out

Before February 2020, you could withdraw through Bitcoin, Payeer, Perfect Money, SolidTrust Pay or Amazon gift cards. Now you can only use your earnings for advertising on DonkeyMails. And since the other members are advertisers too, your advertising risks being very ineffective.

  • Low rewards

Each offer only pays cents, and most ads pay a tenth of a cent. You need to put in a lot of time to collect a significant amount.

  • Paid upgrades can lose you money

Upgrades give you extra ads that pay more and extra referrals, but what you earn still depends on how active those referrals are. You might end up losing money instead of earning.

  • Paid To Sign Up is for the US only

If you do not live in the US and do a Paid To Sign Up offer, your membership can be cancelled, and you lose all your earnings.

  • Hard to use

The design looks like it has not been updated since 2005, the member dashboard is not well thought out, and the site is not optimized for phones.

My takeDonkeyMails is only worth considering if you want to advertise, and even then, it is not the most effective option, in my opinion. If you want to earn real cash, see the alternatives below.

How you earn on DonkeyMails

There are 8 ways to collect rewards. Remember that you can only use them for advertising on the site. Tap one to read more.

View adsMostly a tenth of a cent
DonkeyMails ads to view

In the Paid-To-Click section, you see all the ads you can view. You view an ad long enough to earn the reward.

Most ads pay a tenth of a cent. That is not a lot, but more than most other PTC sites pay, in my experience. It takes little effort, but it does not pay well.

OfferwallsVaries
DonkeyMails offerwalls

Offerwalls from partner sites list tasks like signing up for a website, answering a survey or quiz, or playing games. Follow the instructions to the letter to earn the reward.

Paid surveysLess than on the survey site
DonkeyMails paid surveys

The paid surveys also come from partner sites. You are taken to another website, and in some cases you have to register there first.

In my experience, the reward is slightly less than what the survey site pays you directly. You can, for example, register on Surveytime yourself and get a higher reward per survey.

Paid To Promote (PTP)$0.50 per 1,000 clicks

You promote a link and get PTP credits, which you exchange for money in your DonkeyMails account. Every 1,000 clicks earn you $0.50.

If you have a website, that is a really bad deal. You can find cooperations that pay you a lot more for that kind of traffic.

Paid To Sign UpUS only
DonkeyMails Paid To Sign Up

Only for members in the US. You sign up for a website and complete its offers, usually for a set period, before you get the reward. The reward is a percentage of the commission the site pays DonkeyMails.

If you do not live in the US, never do these offers: it can get your membership cancelled and your earnings lost.

Paid To ReviewVaries

You visit a site or social media page, answer a couple of questions and give it a rating. A pretty simple way to collect rewards.

Referral program5 levels deep
DonkeyMails referral program

You earn 10% of what your direct referrals earn, 5% on the 2nd level, 3% on the 3rd, 2% on the 4th and 1% on the 5th. DonkeyMails pays this, not your referrals, and it does not count what they earn from Paid To Sign Up offers.

It only works as long as your referrals stay active on the site.

Donkey LottoA chance at $25
DonkeyMails Donkey Lotto

Not an earning method as such. Some offers give you points next to the usual reward, and an entry costs 250 points or $0.01 of your earnings. Each entry gives you a chance to win $25.

Do not get carried away. I would only spend your points, not your earnings.

How much can you make?

Like on any PTC site, the more active you are, the more you collect. But you do not really earn as such anymore: you only get advertising credits. And each offer only pays cents, so even if you want advertising credits, it takes a lot of time to collect a significant amount.

Paid membership upgrades give you extra ads that pay more, and members who join without a referral ID can be assigned to you as direct referrals. The more expensive the upgrade, the more of them you get. I personally do not like these upgrades, because what you earn depends on how active those referrals are, and you might end up losing money. Only upgrade if you have a clear plan to earn back what you spent.

How DonkeyMails pays

You still receive rewards for every offer or activity. But there were big changes to the payout methods in February 2020.

    • I have a list of the best GPT sites here you can check out.

About PTC sites, I do not as such have a list of the best options as I actually mostly think PTC sites are not worth it because of the low rewards they offer and because you mostly have to pay to be able to get a chance to earn – but in reality most people end up losing money on PTC sites. So that is why I recommend GPT sites instead as they are always free and give higher rewards.
